Melissa strived to convey the ideas of veganism in her magazine as gently as possible, while at the same time educating children about animal rights and about how great it is to be a vegan. Melissa strives to ensure that children perceive veganism as a universal community, where skin color, religion, socio-economic education, and how long ago a person became a vegan does not matter.
Melissa started publishing the magazine in mid-2017 when she realized there was a need for vegan content for kids. The more she became interested in the topic of veganism, the more she met children who grew up vegans.
After the idea of the magazine was born, Melissa discussed it with all her acquaintances – and was pleasantly surprised by the interest of others. “I felt a huge support from the vegan community from day one and was overwhelmed by the number of people who wanted to be part of the magazine or gave me a helping hand. It turns out that vegans are really wonderful people!”
During the development of the project, Melissa met many famous vegans. It was an interesting experience and a real journey – difficult but worth it! Melissa learned many valuable lessons for herself and wanted to share with all six valuable tips she learned while working on this incredible undertaking.
Be confident in your abilitieswhen you start something new
Everything new is a bit intimidating at first. It can be difficult to take the first step when we are not sure that the upcoming journey will be successful for us. But believe me: few people can be truly sure of what he is doing. Remember that you will be driven by your passion and commitment to veganism. If you are confident in your motives, people who share your views will follow you.
You may be surprised at how many people will help you.
There is a big plus to starting a vegan business – you are supported by a large vegan community. According to Melissa, her path would have been much more difficult if not for all the people who gave her advice, provided content, or filled her inbox with letters of support. Once Melissa had an idea, she began to share it with all people, and because of this, she developed relationships that have become an integral part of her success. Remember, the worst thing that can happen is a simple rejection! Don’t be afraid to ask for help and seek support.
Hard work pays off
Working all night long and all weekends, putting all your strength into the project – of course, this is not easy. And it can be even more difficult when you have a family, a job, or any other obligations. But at the start, you should invest as much effort as possible in your project. While it may not be practical in the long run, it’s worth putting in the extra hours to get your business off to a good start.
Find time for yourself and your loved ones
It may sound cliché, but you are your most valuable business asset. Finding time to indulge yourself, do what you love, and connect with family and friends is how you maintain balance in your life and prevent burnout.
Social media is important
In our time, the path to success is no longer the same as 5-10 years ago. Social media has changed the way we communicate with each other, and that goes for business as well. Take the time to develop a professional social media profile and learn the skills that will help you run your business successfully. There are many great videos on YouTube to help you learn how to use social media. The main thing is to look for original content, because algorithms change over time.
