Although it is said that the diet should be started as soon as we think about it, there are people who prefer to plan such a change in their lives carefully. New Year’s resolutions are a great occasion for this. If you are one of these people, do not wait until January 1 to think about your diet, start preparing now.
Change your mind about your diet
Stop thinking about losing weight as an unpleasant phase in your life. the diet does not have to, and should not even be anything unpleasant. It is a method of improving health, well-being and appearance. Treat your diet time as a ‘healthy eating course’ that you will eventually put into practice.
Make the first changes
Even if you only want to start a specific diet in 2 weeks, you can make minor changes right now. Of course, I’m not talking about dietary restrictions – it’s difficult to introduce them just before Christmas. However, you can regulate your meals, assume that you will not eat later than 3 hours before bedtime, you will start drinking more water, you will not sweeten the tea, etc. Such modifications, even if they do not bring visible results, will allow you to introduce a regimen that will facilitate subsequent weight loss .
Start moving
Movement is an ideal weight loss aid. Its introduction during Christmas will be a great solution. First of all, you will prepare yourself for later activity by taking small steps, and secondly, you will burn excess calories consumed during Christmas meals. At the beginning, longer walks will work best, instead of sitting around at a lavishly set table.
Write down goals
Set yourself goals, but realistic goals that will not discourage you. Remember that the slower we lose weight, the less risk of a yo-yo effect, and we want to lose weight permanently and stay healthy. The best rate of weight loss is 0,5 – 0,7 kg per week.
Find the best diet for you
When choosing a diet for yourself, keep in mind that it will probably accompany you for at least a few weeks. So it must be an attraction for you, a chance for new experiences, and not a journey through torment. First of all, do not think about miracle diets, monothematic diets and other wonderful methods of losing weight, because there are simply no such methods. The use of drastically low-calorie diets reduces the metabolic rate, is harmful to health and discourages further use.
The diet should be perfectly adjusted, balanced and sensible – it should not lead to weight loss of more than 1 kg per week.
