Usually, problems with falling asleep and nerves are the result of an unhealthy lifestyle. If, even when we are tired, we paradoxically cannot fall asleep or we often wake up at night – it is a signal that something is wrong with the body and psyche. Lack of relaxation and too little sleep intensify these problems, so we have a closed circle. Do you need to take tablets right away in such situations? Of course not! Nature has given us many ways to soothe the nerves, which are definitely worth using.

Discover the amazing power of herbs

Many commonly available herbs are known for their calming properties. They can be used both externally – in the form of, for example, a bath with the addition of infusions, and internally – by taking tablets, tinctures, drops and infusions. Their spectrum of action is very wide, so first it is better to check carefully and find out what they will be best for, and consult your doctor if you are taking medications and suffering from chronic diseases.

The most calming effects have:

  • Lavender – it is widely used in herbal medicine and cosmetics. It facilitates falling asleep, relaxes, calms down. However, it is not recommended to add it to the bath in case of sleep problems, because it stimulates circulation, and this will not make it easier to fall asleep …
  • Valerian medicine – also known as valerian. It eliminates nervous tension, calms down, relieves anxiety, while facilitating falling asleep. It is present in the composition of many medical preparations, often found in the form of drops and tablets.
  • Balm – probably the most popular among calming herbs. It eliminates all fears and anxieties, it is used both in the external form (oils or bath infusions) and internal (drinking infusions, candies, tablets, etc.).
  • St. John’s wort – it will soothe your nerves and improve your mood. However, be careful – this plant can affect the medications you take, so in case of illness, you should consult your doctor before taking it.

Change your lifestyle for the better

In addition to supporting yourself with herbs, you should look at your lifestyle, because it is the source of stress, anxiety, fatigue and nervousness. Daily rituals play an important role here, i.e. eating regular meals, separating time for rest and sleep, turning off bad thoughts. Fixed hours of sleep are important – thanks to this, we will avoid problems with falling asleep, because the body gets used to the set frame.

In addition, remember about:

  • Eating regularly – easily digestible, without haste, supplementing vitamin deficiencies, e.g. with supplements,
  • Planning time to relax – movement in the fresh air, which supports physical and mental condition, will have a particularly positive effect on you,
  • Giving up bad habits – coffee, alcohol, heavy and large meals.
