A dense and non-slip fabric is usually chosen as the material for sewing, for example:

How to sew:
- Take measurements from the mattress – length, width and height.
- Make a pattern on paper. Length and width are the main part. Height is the sides. Step back from the main part of the mattress height and add 5 to 15 cm for the elastic and possible shrinkage.
- Transfer the pattern to the fabric and cut off the desired amount.
- Sweep the ends.
- Measure the elastic, it is best to take a wide one. Length: perimeter of the mattress – minus 10 cm.
Sew a wide enough lapel and insert elastic into it. Secure the edges.
How to sew a mattress topper with your own hands: a simple option with elastic bands at the corners
It is even easier to make a cover with loops at the corners. For such a product, it is best to choose a thin knitted fabric, be sure to make at least two layers. One of them may be waterproof. This is especially handy for baby cots.
You will need:
- dense fabric;
- wide elastic band;
- minced meat;
- thread.
Manufacture:
- Measure the length and width of the mattress. This will be the pattern.
- Take as many layers of fabric as you need. You can make a waterproof layer between layers of cotton or thin jersey.
- Quilt layers of fabric.
- Fasten at the corners of the elastic. Be sure to try them on to the mattress. They should be of the optimal size, easy to put on and hold the product well.
- Trim the edges with a border.
The product is ready. Can be washed and fixed on the bed.
