How to select an entire section in Word

You can use section breaks in Word to apply different layouts or formatting to parts of a document, different pagination order and style, different header and footer formatting, and so on. Unfortunately, Word does not provide a keyboard shortcut to select the entire contents of a section. However, there is a workaround that allows you to select all the contents of the current section.

Place the cursor at the beginning of the section you want to highlight and press F8To enable expandable selection mode… Click on F5to open the dialog Find and replace (Find and Replace) and activate the tab About (go to). Listed Transition object (Go to what) choose Section (Section).

To select all the contents of the current section, press Next (Next).

Note: Field Enter section number (Enter section number) leave blank.

The entire section is selected, but the dialog box remains open Find and replace (Find and Replace). Close it with the push of a button Close (Close).

This technique will not work when you need to select the last section of a document or a document consisting of one section. If you want to select the entire document, just click Ctrl + A.
