How to save money on buying seeds: tips, reviews

The second item of savings is the correct calculation of the number of seeds. To understand how many packs you need to buy, you need to multiply the rate of grams per 1 m² by the area of the garden.

Example: Let’s calculate how many beet seeds are needed to sow a 4 m² garden bed. Consumption rate – 1,2 g per meter. We multiply by the area of the garden and we get 4,8 g. In the store, beets are usually sold in packages of 2 or 3 grams. This means that 2 or 3 bags will be needed, and in both cases there will be 1,2 grams left for the next year. Do not sow excess, save the bag better. This will be especially useful if you are trying a new variety or hybrid, and the harvest is very successful.

There is another way to save long-term: you need to buy large packages, making a stock for several years. If the packing seems to be large, cooperate with your neighbors in the country. Professional farmer packages can be quite expensive, but they are of very decent quality, you are unlikely to regret buying.
