Check the insulating glass, they are often equipped with cheap and fragile plastic handles. The window does not close tightly, and if you overdo it, the handle may break off altogether. You can replace it yourself: turn the decorative plate at an angle of 90 degrees, unscrew the bolts and remove the handle. Buy the same one, only of high quality and put it back in place. To get rid of drafts, you need to carefully seal the cracks in the windows – with silicone sealant or just stick it with paper.

Attach the aluminum foil behind the heating radiator, it will reflect heat energy and raise the temperature in the room by several degrees. The cheapest food foil is suitable for these purposes.

Free up the batteries… Do not place large furniture in front of them – the sofa and wardrobe will absorb heat. It is also important not to place items for drying on the radiator, especially if it is located behind curtains, where warm air will circulate between the window and the curtain.

Use thick curtains on windows and in front of front doors – this will save you from drafts and add another level of thermal protection.

Open curtains, drapes and blinds throughout the day… Use natural and free heat in the form of sunlight as much as possible.

Apply thermal film to the windows… Replacing old plastic or wooden windows with new ones with double or triple glazing is an expensive pleasure. If your budget doesn’t allow it, buy thermal film that mimics the effect of double glazing, albeit to a lesser extent. And everyone can stick it on.

Insulate the front door… A lot of heat can escape through keyholes and crevices in jambs. If the doors in the house have been installed for a long time, then the plastic ones need to be adjusted, and the wooden ones should be upholstered with leatherette, and also leatherette rollers with felt should be nailed along the perimeter.

Lay carpets… If the floors on the ground floor are not insulated, 10% of the heat escapes through them. Insulation is expensive and carpets will reduce heat loss. Long pile perfectly retains heat due to the formed air gap. If there are gaps and cracks in the floor, then they should be sealed with polyurethane foam, and an isolon or penofol substrate should be laid under the laminate.

Use heating padsto warm your bed during the cold season.

Open the oven door after cookingto warm up the kitchen.

Home clothes – terry robe, woolen jacket, fleece pants and warm socks – will help to keep warm and maintain health in the cold season.

Trap the heat – Place an inverted clay pot above the candle. It will catch the warm air emanating from the candle and will be able to warm a small room.
