How to save a spoiled dish: the smell of burnt
A spoiled dish is not uncommon. It is worth a little distraction, and a black crust with a taste of burnt food is provided. However, don’t get upset right away. There are situations when you can get rid of a similar problem without much damage to food. Only you need to act quickly and according to the advice of experts.

Undersalt, oversalt, undercooked – this is not a complete list of how you can spoil a dish. The leader, however, is the burning of food. You can fix the dish even in such a situation. The main thing is to choose the right way. And it directly depends on what exactly you will save.
How to get rid of the burnt taste of different foods
To save burnt dishes, there is even a whole list of necessary products that can be used in a given situation.
It includes:
- table vinegar
- citrus peels
- chocolate (preferably bitter)
- fresh bread – crust
- sugar
- powdered sugar with cinnamon
- chocolate glaze
- milk
- cream
- cream
- butter
- seasonings
Most often, housewives burn milk. Moreover, such a nuisance can happen even with a rather experienced woman. At the same time, there are quite a few ways how to eliminate this nuisance. For example, you can strain the milk through cheesecloth several times, each time taking a new one or rinsing it thoroughly after each pouring under running water. Another method involves fairly prompt action. If the milk is burnt, immediately pour it into another container – preferably a saucepan. Place it in a basin filled with cold water. Salt the milk itself and mix well. To make the effect more noticeable, you can cover the container with a napkin dipped in a mild vinegar solution.
If the milk you burned was greasy, try diluting it with water first. See how the rancid taste will decrease from this procedure.
Milk is followed by porridge in the ranking. If this breakfast dish has stuck to the bottom of the pot, put it in cold water and start transferring the porridge (the part that has not been spoiled) to another pot. Then add a little warm milk, salt and cook again, only on low heat. You can get rid of the burnt taste of cooked rice by simply adding a crust of bread to the cereal. Cover the saucepan with a lid and let sit for 30 minutes.

Often, when frying, a product such as meat suffers. As soon as you feel that it is slightly burnt, immediately transfer it to another clean dish and continue cooking, but on a lower heat. In the case when only the crust is damaged, it can be carefully cut off with a knife. The pan on which you put this piece of meat must be clean, otherwise everything will start burning again. And the taste of burned in the already used oil lasts an order of magnitude longer.
Of course, if the meat is too burned, it is better to throw it away. Rescuing and eating such a product is impossible and fraught with health problems
You can also try to save burnt meat with a sauce. To do this, cut off the burnt crust, put the meat in a clean skillet, add water or, if available, broth. Add aromatic seasonings to your liking here. Cook everything over full heat for about 3 minutes. Add a lump of butter at the end. Stir the broth thoroughly so that its consistency becomes as homogeneous as possible. Serve with meat as a sauce.
Burnt pies and biscuits are not a sentence. Gently scrape off the burnt crust with a knife and decorate the product on this side with cream and other sprinkles. You can add powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon. Alternatively, chocolate icing helps to get rid of the burning smell.
If the cheese crust is slightly burnt during baking, carefully remove it with a spoon or knife and replace it with another one. But burnt vegetables can be saved by adding cream, sour cream or a little sugar to them.
Burnt custard can be reanimated like this. Transfer it to another container and add the zest of the citrus peels. Such a measure will help to make the taste bright and juicy, rather than rancid.
What to consider when trying to get rid of the burnt taste
First of all, of course, you need to remember that you should do everything quickly until the taste and smell of burning has completely spread throughout the dish. Then it will be much more difficult to save him.
Also, don’t overdo it. After all, you can spoil the dish again – if you do not burn it, then make it thicker or less salted.
It is also advisable to take care in advance that you have the necessary products on the shelves. Otherwise, it will be almost impossible to fix something.
