Repair: what you need
Before you change the heating element in the ElGee washing machine, you need to prepare the tools. The advantage is that you don’t need any special tools – what is at hand will be enough. And from the materials you only need a new part.
Hence the question arises: how to choose a new heating element so that it lasts as long as possible, and its replacement is not required after a month?
In order not to make a mistake with the choice, you need to carefully examine the old heater – it can be marked. If you find combinations, write out and go to the store with these values.
If nothing is found, then you need to determine the power of the element. This can be spelled out in the CMA data sheet. Typically, the indicator for LG machines ranges from 1900-1950 watts, but there are instances with a power of 2 kW.

- in the service center;
- in a store of spare parts for household appliances in your city;
- in the online store.
If you decide to buy a heater on the Internet, choose sites from the TOP-10 and do not pay attention to too cheap offers. On average, a new heater should cost about 500 rubles.
Before replacing the heating element, prepare all the necessary tools:
- two screwdrivers: flat and “plus”;
- any lubricant, you can WD-40;
- tester (multimeter);
- socket head for 8 and a ratchet.
We change the heating element
Before pulling out the heating element from the LG washing machine, you will need to unscrew the top cover of the machine. If this is not done, then the back wall cannot be removed. Usually there is no difficulty in dismantling the cover, but if something does not come out, refer to the user manual.
Now act like this:
- Remove the fasteners that hold the back of the washer body.
- Next – your task is to fix the location of the wiring on the heater contacts. This will help you later install a new heating element without damaging it (if you mix up the wires, both the new part and the control unit may burn out).
- Now you can safely disconnect the wires – from the heating element and from the temperature sensor located in the heater design.

- After making sure that the element needs to be changed, proceed to action. You have already disconnected the heating element connection, which means that it is up to the nut holding the heater. The nut is located in the center of the shank. Here you will need a head: put it on the nut and unscrew it. Lightly tap the bolt with the ratchet handle – it should fall inward.
- Now, taking a thin screwdriver, pry up the heater seal.
- Grasp the contacts and pull with force until you can pull out the heating element. Try to get the part carefully, without breaking it into pieces.
- After inspection, put the old heating element aside and take care of its mounting hole: it may contain debris, dirt, and scale. All this needs to be cleaned up.
Do not rush to hide the tester! Also check the newly purchased part to avoid installing a defective part.

Installation
Installing the heating element in the LG washing machine is as follows:
- Take a new TEN.
- Lubricate the seal with WD-40 or other type of lubricant.
- Install the part in the groove.
- If the heater has entered and sat down tightly, you can tighten the fasteners and hook the wiring into place (remember that you took a photo!).
At this stage, the replacement of the heating element in the LG washing machine can be considered successfully completed. You just have to run a test wash to make sure that the newly installed part is working.
Turn on the high-temperature mode and 15-20 minutes after starting the program, touch the glass of the hatch – if it is not cold, the heating element heats up.
