What problems can a user face when repairing a washing machine door? First of all, these are problems with opening the hatch. After all, the handle most often fails when you try to open the door after the wash cycle is completed.
What to do if you realize that you cannot remove things from the drum?
To open the door mechanically, use the following methods:
- Get to it through the top or bottom of the washer. To open the latch through the top of the machine, remove the top cover by unscrewing the two screws on the back. Then push the cover in the opposite direction and set it aside.
- Tilt the body of the CM back a little. So the drum will move a little to the side.
- Put your hand in the lock and open it.
The same manipulations are carried out through the bottom of the machine. It is necessary to remove the bottom cover, if any, and unlock the lock.
There is another popular method of how to act in this situation – to use a rope. Take a thin rope, thread it between the door and the body of the SMA. Now pull it on both sides, pulling the lock in turn. It must open.

Step by step guide
The part is beyond repair, you will need a new washer handle to replace it. Buy it at any specialized store, just name the brand and model of the washing machine to the seller.
We carry out dismantling
First of all, unplug the machine and turn on the inlet tap to shut off the water. Armed with a screwdriver, get to work:
- It is necessary to unscrew the door from the machine body. To do this, open the hatch, remove the two screws securing the door.
- Lay it glass side up on a flat surface.
- Unscrew the screws that secure the two parts of the door around the perimeter.
- You can use a slotted screwdriver to pry out the plastic latches. Walk the tool in a circle, opening the latches.
- Now remove the outer part as well as the glass.
- You are left with the inside.
- To correctly assemble the parts, take a picture of the handle from both sides.
- Using a thin screwdriver, push through the pin that holds the elements together.
- As soon as you pull out the pin, the rest of the parts can be freely removed.

- Plastic handle.
- A pin that holds the structure together.
- Latch tongue.
- Spring.
Installing a new handle
Even if only one element of the handle is broken, the entire mechanism must be replaced. Follow the assembly order:
- Reinstall the spring.
- Position the retainer on the side of the spring. While holding it in place, start inserting the pin, but not all the way. Insert it into only one eye of the spring.
- Now, put the plastic handle on the retainer and push the pin in place.
Assemble the door:
- Place the hatch glass under the handle.
- Place the outer part of the door on top, pressing the latches.
- Screw back the self-tapping screws and attach the door to the CMA body.
