A typical washing machine assembly has two bearings. They serve as a link between the drum and the pulley. Near the drum is a larger bearing, as it carries a high load. The smaller part is located at the other end of the shaft.
Thus, the bearings of the washing machine allow the drum to rotate evenly during washing and spinning.
Causes of wear
With proper operation, the replacement of the bearing on the Indesit machine will be needed in 5-6 years. So much time is required for natural wear and tear. If the breakdown happened earlier, this was facilitated by the following factors:
- Incorrect drum loading. Constant overloading of laundry causes imbalance, which leads to rapid wear of parts.
- Damage to the gland, which acts as a sealing rubber. Thanks to special lubrication, the stuffing box reliably protects the bearing from water ingress. As a result of its damage, a leak occurs. Water washes out the grease, causing corrosion and bearing failure.

What tools are needed
You will need:
- Screwdriver set: flat, Phillips.
- Socket wrenches.
- Carob keys.
- A hammer.
- Bit.
- Hacksaw, metal sheet.
- Passatizhi.
- Tool WD-40.
- Adhesive or sealant.
- Replaceable parts.
Prepare your car for repairs. Unplug it. Shut off the water supply and turn off all communications, draining water from them. Also drain the water from the pump filter – it is located below, under the front panel behind the hatch. Unscrew the filter and drain the remaining water.
Move the CMA away from the wall so that it is convenient for you to replace the motor bearing of the Indesit washing machine. Now you can start disassembly.

Panels and covers
Start by removing the top cover. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws on the back, push the cover forward and remove it from the case.
Now switch to the back panel. Unscrew all the bolts around the perimeter, set the panel aside.
Continue disassembly by proceeding to remove the front panel. For this:
- Pull out the detergent drawer. While pressing the latch in the center, remove the tray from the case.
- Remove all screws holding the control panel. Usually two self-tapping screws are located behind the tray, and one on the opposite side.
- Release the panel latches with a flathead screwdriver.
- Wires can not be unfastened, put the panel on top of the case.
- Open the hatch door. After bending the sealing rubber, pry the clamp with a screwdriver and remove it.
- Remove the two sunroof lock screws. After disconnecting its wiring, fill the cuff inside the tank.
If you are afraid of damaging the glass of the door, it is better to remove it immediately. Loosen the hinge bolts and set the door aside.
- Remove the screws that secure the front panel and remove it.
Details on the back of the case
To pull the tank with the drum out of the body, you need to remove all the parts that may interfere.
Remove the drive belt first. Pull it towards you while turning the pulley. You can immediately remove the pulley. To do this, fix its wheel with a bar or hammer handle, unscrew the central bolt with a wrench.
If the bolt does not give in, spray it with WD-40.
Next steps:
- Disconnect the wires from the heating element and the electric motor. The heater does not need to be removed.
- To get the motor, you need to unscrew the three bolts that hold it.
- Swinging it back and forth, remove the engine from the housing.
Now you need to disconnect the drain pipe. Make it more convenient through the bottom. Therefore, put the washer on its side, loosen the pipe clamp with pliers and disconnect from the tank.
At the same time, unscrew the shock absorber mounting bolts at the bottom of the case.
Top part
Inspect what else prevents you from getting the tank before changing the bearing. This is a powder container. To unfasten it, do this:
- A branch pipe is connected to the cuvette from below. Loosen its clamp and disconnect.
- Also, the powder receptacle is held by the hoses coming from the inlet valve.
- Unscrew the valve fixing bolt and remove it together with the cuvette.
- Disconnect the pressure switch hose attached to the tank.
Now the tank hangs only on two springs. To get it, pull it up a little and pull it out of the case.
In most models, the washer tank is non-separable. This means that its two halves are soldered together, and not fastened with screws. Therefore, before removing the bearing from the Indesit washing machine, you need to cut the tank.
Tank
Before cutting, you need to make holes for the bolts that you will install later. This will serve as additional reinforcement.
- Set the tank on its side.
- Take a hacksaw. The cut can be started from anywhere. A hacksaw can be alternated with a metal blade.
Having removed the upper part, proceed to the removal of the drum. To do this, hit the drum sleeve with a hammer and it will fall out.

Dismantling and installation
To remove the bearing, use a puller. If not, install a chisel on the outer race of the part and lightly tap it with a hammer until you knock out the bearing.
Before installation, clean and lubricate the seat. With the new part in place, tap the outer race evenly with a bolt and hammer. Make sure the bearing sits straight.
Do the same with the second piece. Pre-lubricate the oil seal, then install over the bearing.
Return the drum to the tank. Join the two parts by covering the edges with special purpose adhesive or sealant. Then tighten the bolts in the right places. You can start reassembling the machine.
