This method is not recommended for thin garments.

If, after freezing and mechanical cleaning with a knife, small stains from resin remain, then they can be removed with an iron or hair dryer. To do this, one paper towel is placed under the stain, and the second is placed on top and the dirty place is heated with a hot iron. Gradually, the resin begins to melt and absorb into the towel.

Use vegetable or olive oils to remove resin residues from your leather jacket. Then the stain must be treated with alcohol, and the clothes must be wiped with a dry, clean cloth. In this way, delicate things are cleaned, and then they are washed in water with soap or powder.

Rubbing alcohol will help remove fresh stains. To do this, the cotton wool is moistened in alcohol and the place of pollution is wiped. Alcohol also removes tar from delicate clothes that are not intended for washing.

Pine resin is easily washed off if you mix 1 tsp. ammonia and turpentine with 1 tbsp. l. potato starch. The prepared mixture must be applied to the place of contamination and left for several hours, after which it must be brushed and washed.

When removing stains, pay attention to the following guidelines:

  • in order not to smudge the stain when cleaning, wet the cloth with water or sprinkle talcum powder (starch) around the dirt;
  • you need to remove the resin, moving from the edge to the center;
  • if the stain is small, then it is better to apply the stain remover with a pipette or cotton swab;
  • it is not recommended to use strong solvents, as they damage colored items.
  • For delicate items, it is best to use refined gasoline.

All of these methods will help you quickly and easily remove tar from your clothes. However, do not forget that any fabric has a special texture and quality, and therefore requires a careful approach to choosing a stain remover.
