How to remove shoe odor: folk remedies
How to remove unpleasant odor from shoes?
If an unpleasant situation has already occurred and the shoes began to smell unpleasant, you should take care of removing the smell. Today there are a lot of both folk and chemical remedies. Each will get rid of the smell with some success:
· The easiest way to get rid of the smell is to simply wash your shoes by hand or using a washing machine. At the same time, it is very important to thoroughly rinse the inside of each shoe, cleaning out all bacteria;
· Vinegar is often used, which is poured onto a cotton swab and put inside the shoes at night. The main thing is to then remove the remaining liquid if it has leaked from the cotton wool;
Rubbing the inside of the shoe with baking soda can also have an effect in removing odor;
· Heat treatment – you need to either dry your shoes very well on a battery, with a hairdryer or a special shoe dryer, or stuff them into the freezer, after removing the insoles. Then almost all the “inhabitants” of the shoe will die and the smell will disappear for some time;
Another tip on how to remove odor from shoes is to tuck a few tea bags inside overnight. Tea has a good ability to absorb odors – it was not for nothing that several centuries ago it was transported by special ships so that tea would not “pick up” something on the way. This method is used to save soldiers in the army, because it is not always possible to wash ankle boots there;
· You can pour flour or powder inside, and then let it sit there overnight. After that, it is enough to vacuum the boots very well.
