Before proceeding with the treatment, you need to make sure that the carpet does not shed and the home remedy does not harm the surface. To do this, it is tested on a small area of carpet.
The most effective means in the fight against odors and stains are:
- baking soda;
- acetic acid (9%);
- hydrogen peroxide;
- washing powder;
- laundry soap;
- shaving foam;
- fabric softener.
The smell of urine and stains from it is well removed with soda, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. If the stain is fresh, then first collect moisture, then pour over the contaminated area with vinegar. When the product dries, apply a thick layer of soda to the stain, and hydrogen peroxide on top of it. Then the foam is collected with a damp cloth, vacuumed and dried with a hair dryer.
How to remove the smell from the carpet if it has not dried out well after the previous wash? First, the surface should be thoroughly vacuumed, then the carpet should be taken outside and well exhausted. If the weather permits, then it is left to ventilate for a day, then brought home.
Laundry soap is finely crushed into a bowl, mixed with powder and a little water is added. The resulting gruel is applied to the entire surface of the carpet, carefully rubbing it into the pile. After 1,5-2 hours after treatment, the coating must be vacuumed.
How to remove the smell from the carpet if alcohol is spilled on it? The absorbed liquid is collected with a rag, the stain is dried. Then shaving foam is generously applied to it, rubbing into the pile.
The product is left for one hour, then the carpet is vacuumed.
You can get rid of the chemical smell of new carpet with a lemon or mint scent fabric softener. To do this, the concentrate is diluted in water (1 to 1), poured into a spray bottle and the surface is treated with it. After drying, the carpet should be vacuumed and the room ventilated.
