Today, the safest way to pierce your earlobes is to use a special medical pistol, since piercing your ears yourself is not recommended for many reasons.

How to remove medical earrings

Puncture with a pistol is carried out using medical needle earrings, which are worn for four to six weeks and removed after the canal has healed. If the piercing of the earlobe has been performed by a specialist and the canal is formed correctly, it is quite easy to remove the earrings.

Removing medical earrings

To remove earrings you will need: – alcohol solution or hydrogen peroxide, – soap, – a piece of gauze. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, as it is easy to get an infection into a pierced ear, but not easy to cure.

Holding the head of the stud earring in the front with two fingers, gently begin to unfasten the clasp of the earring at the back.

When first removed, the fasteners are removed with some effort; if you have problems, it is better to see a traumatologist or the specialist who pierced your ears

After removing the earrings, moisten the gauze with hydrogen peroxide (2%) or alcohol solution and carefully treat the punctures in the earlobes. Do not wear new earrings for about two hours and see a doctor if the canals become inflamed or have pus in them.

After removing the medical earrings, choose a new piece of jewelry without an English lock. The new earring’s pin diameter should be the same (or smaller) size as the previous earring. Experts recommend giving preference to gold earrings, which prevent microbes from multiplying in the puncture.

Before putting on new earrings (studs or other earrings), disinfect all parts of them with an alcohol solution. After that, carefully insert them into the channel and clamp the fastener just as gently.

Be sure to try not to snap the clasp too close to the earlobe to avoid pinching or crushing delicate skin.

In the first six months, it is advisable not to take off the earrings and wear them constantly so that the channels from the puncture do not overgrow. After the final healing of the canals, the earrings should be worn for at least half an hour every day – so you do not have to go through the piercing procedure again.

Also remember that stud earrings are not the most comfortable adornment for constant wear – if you plan to sleep in them, prepare for bed exclusively on your back, since the sharp ends in the lateral position will press behind your ears.
