How to remove ballpoint pen ink from furniture and carpet
The basic rule of removing ink from any surface is to act quickly, it is almost impossible to remove stubborn stains on your own. Traces from ballpoint or fountain pens, felt-tip pens should not be wetted, rubbed intensively – this will only aggravate the problem, the coloring pigments will penetrate deep into the fibers.
Fresh knob marks on carpet or upholstery can be removed with lemon, tomato or milk juice. The liquid must be applied to a cotton pad, gently wet the contaminated area. After half an hour, rinse the surface with warm water.
How else can you remove ink:
- Spray hairspray on a piece of clean light-colored cloth, blot the dirty area, wipe off the remnants with a dry napkin;
- use alcohol in the same way as the previous remedy;
- acetone – soak a cotton pad with a product, treat the stain from the edges to the center.
To remove stubborn ink, you need to mix 20 ml of warm water, ammonia and medical alcohol. Pour the solution into a container with a spray bottle, wet the stain well. After an hour, walk over the surface with a damp cloth.
How to remove ballpoint pen ink from fabric
If a spot from a ballpoint pen has just appeared, you need to press a paper towel or napkin very tightly to the fabric, hold it for half a minute. Additionally, you can fill the contaminated area with salt, starch, chalk, talcum powder – these substances absorb ink well.
Ink can be removed from white clothing with hydrogen peroxide. Mix 5 ml of peroxide and ammonia, dilute the mixture in 500 ml of warm water. Soak a clean napkin with the solution, moisten the stain. After 25 minutes, wash the garment in warm water.
Laundry soap will help remove ink stains on your jeans. Soap the contaminated area well, rub with a brush, leave for an hour. Rinse clothes in warm water.
Old traces of the handle are removed from colored fabrics with a mixture of glycerin and turpentine in a ratio of 2: 5. Pure turpentine is used to cleanse woolen products
Products made of delicate fabrics contaminated with ink should be soaked in sour milk for 2-3 hours, then washed in warm water in the usual way.
You can remove fresh ink marks from furniture or clothing yourself. But if the stain is old, it is better to seek professional help.
