How to remove hair dye. Video
Of course, the procedure for lightening the dye on the hair is quite traumatic for them, and it is better to do it by contacting a specialist. But if for some reason you cannot do this, then it is necessary to lighten the dyed hair to the tone you need in several stages in order to damage them as little as possible.
The essence of the process of lightening hair dye
Professionals call bleaching a change in the natural color of hair in several tones, and if your hair is colored and you want to make it lighter, it is more correct to call it pickling or washing. For this, special pickling agents are used, the action of which is to remove the coloring pigment from the hair structure. Preparations of this action at home should be used very carefully, carefully observing all the proportions indicated in the instructions and the holding time of the product on the hair.
In the process of pickling under the influence of oxygen, the coloring pigment is oxidized and loses its color. In addition, it acquires the property of being soluble in water, so it can be washed out, leaving voids in the hair cells. After washing, your natural pigment remains in the hair, the color of which has changed during the dyeing process. The darker your natural hair was, the brighter the red or reddish tint of your hair will be after pickling. The remover makes the hair porous and lighter. If you want to lighten dyed hair, you need to remove it in stages, especially when you want to remove dark dye from your hair.
How to lighten dyed hair at home
The technology for washing out the artificial pigment largely depends on which manufacturer’s product you use. For example, Estel COLOR OFF allows for five washout steps in one day, while BRELIL’s product only allows three. At the same time, some manufacturers recommend drying the hair with a hairdryer between washes and waiting at least 20 minutes before the next procedure, while others do not need to wait – the next stage of washing is performed after the hair has been washed and slightly dried with a hairdryer. Read the instructions carefully.
Decapitation should be done no earlier than a month after you have dyed your hair. Apply the remover 1 cm from the roots
The procedure itself is the same at each stage – you should mix two compositions, packaged in different bottles. Mix them in equal proportions and apply immediately to the hair. Then you need to put a plastic shower cap on your head and heat your hair under this cap with a hairdryer for 20 minutes. After that, the decanter must be thoroughly washed off with hot water and washed with shampoo five more times. Between the stages, no other products can be applied to the hair, only a wash and shampoo. Don’t be intimidated by the fact that they will feel like tow – the balm included in the third bottle, applied at the final stage, will return silkiness to your hair.
