How to remove cuticles at home? Video

Every woman dreams of having beautiful and well-groomed hands. It doesn’t matter how long your nails are, first of all they need to be well-groomed. Hand care involves performing a number of basic procedures, one of which is a manicure. There are several simple rules, following which you can easily remove cuticles and do a manicure at home, which means that your hands will always look well-groomed.

An ideal manicure is a well-groomed and moisturized cuticle, smoothly filed nails with a neat varnish coating, smooth skin of the hands. And if everything is clear with painting nails and using hand cream, then many women experience difficulties in caring for their cuticles.

What is a cuticle? This is a build-up of skin on the nail at the base of the nail bed. Depending on the physiology of the woman, this growth is active and inactive. In the first case, the cuticle is rough, grows very quickly, dry, cracks, after which burrs appear. This cuticle is considered problematic and requires careful maintenance. In the second case, the cuticle is naturally soft, grows slowly and is almost invisible. In caring for it, it is enough to use only special oils.

Cuticle removal is the most difficult moment when performing a manicure

There are two types of manicure: classic (edged), European (unedged). With a classic manicure, the softened cuticle is cut off with special scissors or nippers. With European manicure, the cuticle is not cut, but removed with a lactic acid remover.

If you are a supporter of the classic method, then it is better to do this with a specialist in the salon. If you prefer to do a trim manicure yourself, do it very carefully and only with high-quality tools so as not to injure the skin on your fingers.

To perform a manicure at home, the unedged method is the most accessible, since it is almost impossible to get injured from it.

Lubricate your cuticles daily with moisturizing oils or special conditioners. Do your homework with gloves. This will protect the cuticle from exposure to various chemical components, and, accordingly, from drying out. Apply a moisturizer or nourishing cream to your hands and cuticles after each contact with water.

An important stage in manicure is shaping the nails, which every woman chooses based on personal preferences. Recently, the following shapes have been popular: square, soft square, stiletto, oval. You only need to file your nails in one direction. This will prevent delamination. Once a month, polish the nail plate with a buff.

Nail polishing is more of a creative process. Applying varnish to nails, a woman can feel to some extent an artist, especially if this is not just painting, but a combination of several shades or textures of varnishes. But it should be remembered that in the process of painting nails, varnish should be applied very carefully in the cuticle area and lateral roller. Nails with painted over cuticles and varnished sides look sloppy. Apply a fixer to the varnish, it will extend its life for several days.

European manicure. The main difference and advantage of the European manicure is that the cuticle is not cut off. To remove the cuticle using the European manicure method, you will need:

  • bath for manicure
  • warm water and sea salt
  • saws
  • wooden stick for cuticle removal
  • pusher
  • cuticle softening cream or gel based on lactic or fruit acids
  • a remedy that slows down cuticle growth, or lemon oil
  • hand cream

To begin with, steam the fingers of one hand for 10 minutes in a therapeutic bath of warm water with sea salt. To further moisturize your nails and cuticles, add a few drops of almond and avocado oil to the bath.

Then gently apply a cuticle softener to the skin around the nail. After two minutes with a pusher, remove all the pterygium from the nail plate, and then remove the cuticle growth with a wooden stick. Cuticle products with lactic acids are good because they dissolve the keratin of the stratum corneum, that is, the top layer of the skin, thereby softening the cuticle and preventing its further growth.

When using a remover with lactic and fruit acids, do not wash the old varnish until the end of the manicure procedure. It will protect your nails from acids

After you have cleaned all your fingers with the remover and a wooden stick, wipe off the old nail polish. Use a liquid without acetone in the composition for this. Then, wash your hands thoroughly with water to remove any excess cuticle remover from your skin.

After that, apply a remedy to the cuticle that slows down its growth, or lemon oil. Let it soak, and then brush your hands with a nourishing cream. Massage your fingers and hands. Next, start applying the varnish.

The classic method. At home, you need to cut the cuticle correctly so as not to injure the delicate skin around the nail.First, you need to clean the surface of the nails from the old varnish. Then apply a softening cream to the cuticle. Then dip your fingers into the water bath for 10 minutes.

Using a wooden stick, gently push the cuticle downward. Then use nail clippers to slightly lift the cuticle and cut it off. When trimming the skin around the nail bed, press the lower blade of the tweezers firmly against the base of the nail. During operation, the tweezers should move in the shape of the growth of the nail plate.

You do not need to cut the cuticle completely. It is necessary to leave a thin strip that will protect the nail from the penetration of a fungal infection.

Apply medicated oil to the cuticle. Finish with a nourishing cream on your hands. Start applying varnish.
