How to remove a blockage in the bathroom with improvised means

Plumbers clean sewer pipes mechanically – with a special cable. You can remove the blockage yourself with a plunger – a device consisting of a wooden handle and a rubber hemisphere nozzle. The pipes are cleaned as follows:

1. A little water is taken into the bathroom so that the debris in the pipe is pushed not by air, but by a more powerful water flow.

2. The plunger is placed vertically, completely covering the drain hole with the socket of the instrument.

3. Moving the handle of the tool up and down, produce several sharp movements.

4. After removing the blockage, the drain is thoroughly rinsed with running water.

During pumping, it is important not to overdo it with pressure: under strong pressure, the siphon installed under the bathtub can break.

If you don’t have a plunger or cleaner on hand, you can use baking soda and vinegar. 60-70 g of an alkaline product is carefully poured into the drain. Next, a full glass of vinegar is poured into the hole. When the hissing stops in the drain, the hot water tap is opened at full capacity. Rinse until the blockage is completely gone.
