How to relieve nervous tension? Video
According to sociologists, approximately one in four people on the planet suffers from nervous tension, especially for residents of large cities. How to quickly get rid of this problem? And what will help restore peace of mind and feel calmer?
Causes of nervous tension and its symptoms
There are many reasons for stress. This can be not quite ideal family relationships, and problems at work, too fast pace of life, lack of sleep, endless rush, traffic jams, constant electromagnetic radiation, noise, improper and irregular food, and so on.
All these factors have a detrimental effect on a person all the time, and it is simply stupid to ignore their harmful effects.
Particularly sensitive natures may notice a sharp decrease in working capacity, the appearance of apathy, and sometimes even an unwillingness to live, severe irritation, aching pains throughout the body, decreased immunity, hormonal failure and other unpleasant sensations. The skin grows dull, circles appear under the eyes, the condition of the hair worsens, some complain of acne.
If such symptoms appear, then perhaps we are talking about growing nervous tension. To keep the situation under control, it’s time to take action.
According to doctors, women suffer more from nervous tension than men. This is not entirely true. It’s just that women are by nature more emotional, and men are taught from childhood to hide their feelings and “not to let the bullies go” over trifles.
To quickly bounce back, you should set aside a few hours and, in a calm atmosphere, write down the reasons for your concern on a piece of paper. And then re-read all this and draw up a plan of action. You should look at problems from different angles.
For example, let’s say that you are under a layoff, but maybe this is your chance to try yourself in a new position and find a more interesting and highly paid job.
On the other hand, nervous tension arises from strong mental and physical overload, therefore it is necessary:
- normalize the daily routine (go to bed and get up at the same time)
- get enough sleep (it’s best to sleep in a well-ventilated area. Take a relaxing bath before bed, put on your favorite bedding, put on comfortable, soft pajamas, and go into the arms of Morpheus)
- make a plan of action for the weekend so that later you do not have the feeling that time was wasted
- do not take work home
- try to set aside a few hours a week for your favorite activities and warn household members not to bother you at this time
Beneficial effects: meditation, massage and aromatherapy
In addition, visualization sometimes helps to abstract and relax a little. Imagine yourself in a place where you feel good – by the sea or on a sunlit lawn. This will allow consciousness to quickly switch, and breathing will become more even. Unleash your imagination. There is no need to be ashamed of your desires.
Walking helps relieve stress. By the way, this is also a great way to relax after a hard day. For greater efficiency, you can change your stride width and pace from fast to slow. The main thing is not to strain, keep your back straight, move easily and freely. Gradually, thoughts will become brighter, and your mood will improve significantly.
Sports training has a similar effect. So it will be possible to bring the body into shape, and thoughts in order. For especially sensitive persons, yoga is suitable.
In these classes, you can not only work out various muscle groups, but also meditate, and you will be able to let off steam on the treadmill, kickboxing or tai chi classes.
Also, physical education should be arranged during the working day. You shouldn’t sit still for 8 hours. Get up from the computer, stretch, do some relaxing eye exercises, go outside for 10 minutes.
Scientists have proven that a smile is a magic tool that can instantly lift your mood. Even if you have cats scratching in your soul, smile. It’s all about the facial muscles, from which certain impulses are sent to the brain. Under the influence of the chemical reactions taking place there, the mood will quickly improve.
Another way is to laugh at the problem.
It sounds crazy at first glance, but it really works. Agree, if you get upset and give up, it won’t make it easier for anyone. And if you act with all your optimism, the problem will be quickly resolved. And, as they say, laughter prolongs life, so more often watch comedies, humorous programs, read jokes and have fun with all the heart.
If you cannot cope with nervous tension on your own, you should make an appointment with a doctor and ask to prescribe a sedative for you, otherwise the consequences of this ailment can be the most unpredictable.
