Why we rest on June 12
On June 12, they rest in Our Country, because the Labor Code says so: the corresponding resolution is spelled out in article 112. It is dedicated to non-working holidays.
On this day, the national holiday Day of Our Country is celebrated. Sometimes people mistakenly use the analogy with the US national holiday – they call our celebration Independence Day. There is logic in this.
The holiday is dedicated to the document dated June 12, 1990. Then they adopted the Declaration of Sovereignty of the RSFSR. A year later, the day was declared non-working.
And yet it is more correct to use the official name – Day of Our Country. The patriotic celebration is dedicated not only to the declaration of the sovereignty of a large country, but also to the unity of all peoples on its territory.
A series of festive events traditionally takes place in Our Country for the holiday. For example, the president gives awards to people of science and art. In the regions, local authorities organize street festivals. For example, passing TRP standards or concerts.

Will there be less salary in June due to non-working Monday June 12 in 2023?
“The presence of non-working holidays in a calendar month is not a basis for reducing wages for employees who receive a salary (official salary).”
Nothing is said directly about employees who receive a percentage of transactions or fees. But logically, if such an employee was resting, then there is nothing to pay him for.

I am asked to work from 10 to 12 June 2023, when everyone will rest. How will it be paid?
• If you are on a piece rate basis or receive a wage rate, such as per shift or per hour, pay double.
• If you have a salary, then its share is calculated, which you formally receive in one day. This amount is multiplied by two.
• However, the increased rate of one-day salary will be only if, by the end of June, you have worked overtime in excess of the monthly norm of working time. Yes, there is such a figure. It can be obtained from personnel officers or in the accounting department. There may be no processing if this month, for example, you have already taken a day off. If there is no processing, then the salary for work on a holiday is paid at the standard rate.
The Labor Code also gives the employee the right to replace an increase in salary with a day off. Please note that this is only an increase. That is, the employer still pays a one-time tariff or rate for going out on a holiday. In this case, the day off is not payable.
