How to recognize your face type: examining the signs of all skin types

There are four main types in total: normal, oily, dry, combination skin. How do you know what type of skin you have?

If you look at the window of a cosmetic store, you will notice that almost all the jars say: “For normal skin”, “For combination skin” and so on. It is very important to choose the products that are right for you. Otherwise, you can significantly worsen your appearance. There are four main types in total: normal, oily, dry, combination skin. How do you know what type of skin you have? The expert – cosmetologist of the beauty space PMP Organic Beauty told us about this. Tamara Bganba.

Oily or problem skin type

This type is characterized by enlarged pores, uneven texture, a tendency to oily sheen. Rashes (acne) can often appear. Skin of this type is usually dense, less sensitive to the influence of external factors and ages more slowly due to self-moisturizing with sebum.

Combined skin type

Combination skin is most common. If all of the above condition for oily skin is typical only for the T-zone (chin, forehead, nose), and the skin around the eyes and on the cheeks is thin and prone to dryness, then, without a doubt, you are the owner of a combination skin type.

Dry or sensitive skin type

With this type of skin, the pores are invisible, rashes rarely appear. The skin is thin, delicate, flaky and requires special care.

After washing or cleansing, there is often a feeling of slight tightness and discomfort. This type of skin is subject to the most rapid aging: dehydration of the dermis provokes a loss of firmness and elasticity. Fine wrinkles may appear as early as adolescence.

Normal skin type

Differs in the absence of visible manifestations of deficiencies. Normal skin has a uniform color and relief, a healthy matte texture and does not require special care, you just need to maintain an optimal balance of the epidermis.

Now, having dealt with the features of each type, we turn to their definition.

All you need is natural light, rested skin and a magnifying glass.

Oily skin type

:

  • by applying a napkin for 20 seconds, you see a greasy mark on the napkin after touching on all parts of the face.

Combined skin type:

  • the product of the sebum in the T-zone appears on the napkin (it becomes oily), but at the same time your cheeks and the area around the eyes are dry.

Dry skin type:

  • traces on napkins after 30 min. after washing are completely absent.

Normal skin type:

  • after 30 min. after washing, the greasy marks on the napkin are barely noticeable.

While determining the type of skin is very important, the most important thing today is determining its condition. If you are over 25, then only a specialist can accurately determine the type of skin.

Our skin has a cumulative effect. And the environment, cosmetics and the cream that you apply, UV radiation, harmful even in cloudy weather through the clouds, have a significant effect on our skin.

All of these factors alter the function of skin cells.

So, for example, in skin with invisible pores and a porcelain tone, by lunchtime the T-zone can be oily sheen and with inflammation on the cheekbones and chin.

At the same time, an independent analysis of the skin type will invariably lead to the acquisition of cosmetics for oily problem skin. By drying out already dehydrated skin of an initially dry type, we expose it to a decrease in collagen production. The skin becomes dry to the touch, with fine wrinkles and a yellowish color. Pimples in such a dermis fibrate and remain for many years.

Therefore, when determining your skin type, give preference to the fourth and, perhaps, the most reliable method – a trip to a beautician. It will help you not only to determine your skin type, but also to choose the most suitable care cosmetics for your home, which will give your skin comfort and confidence in its health and beauty for years to come.
