How to recharge your batteries in the morning?

Working remotely affects the way of life: you get up late, and you have less and less energy. You seem to get enough sleep, but feel sluggish all day. Why is this happening and how to deal with the regimen and get up easily in the morning? In the Taoist tradition, there are useful recommendations in this regard.

Lots of people have trouble sleeping during quarantine. Someone sleeps little and intermittently, someone falls asleep only in the morning and wakes up by the middle of the day. To maintain health, it is important to balance sleep so that it falls at night.

It is at night, from 10-11 pm to 7 am that the brain works to restore the function of all organs and systems. He, like a conductor, synchronizes the work of the whole organism, and without this important “administrative” work, health gradually begins to weaken.

How to establish a routine and wake up cheerful? To do this, Taoist traditional medicine has several important rules.

Wake up and go to sleep at the same time

Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day so you don’t get confused. Yes, this requires some willpower. But if health is at stake, then you can try.

“What if I don’t want to go to bed at night?” is a reasonable question. There are people who feel uplifted in the evening and are ready to do business until dawn. But if you still want to establish a sleep pattern, it is better, despite your reluctance, to go to bed anyway.

Once every 3-4 hours, the so-called “gates of sleep” “open” for you – a period begins when you feel drowsy, and it is at this time that it is easier to fall asleep. When you’re feeling high or anxious, you may be ignoring your body’s signals that it’s time to sleep. Therefore, when you usually fall asleep in “peaceful” time, go to bed in the evening. This way you can get into the “gate of sleep”.

The rules for quality sleep are very simple: no gadgets in bed and, if possible, a boring book. The more boring, the faster you fall asleep. In the morning – early awakening: a healthy adult needs an average of 8 hours of sleep. This mode should become habitual.

Vigor rituals

If it is difficult to get up in the morning, then traditional healing rituals will come to the rescue, which are easy to make a habit.

1. Stimulation of reflex zones. There are several reflex zones in our body, by stimulating which you activate the work of the whole organism – you awaken it, tone it up. These reflex zones are the palms, ears and feet.

Lying in bed, gently massage the ears from the earlobes upwards. It shouldn’t hurt – massage gently but firmly. After that, stretch your palms and fingers.

Then you can do a self-massage of the feet or use a scratchy rug – a great tool to tone up. Make it a habit to stand on a prickly rug when you brush your teeth: both your feet and your whole body will thank you.

2. Gymnastics. If earlier there was no time for morning exercises, now, on the “remote”, it’s time to introduce such exercises into a habit. Choose gymnastics that does not take much time. The first three days you will still have enough motivation for an hour of exercise, but after a week you will most likely stop exercising.

Let your practice take no more than 15 minutes and be done “on a C grade” – then before it starts, you won’t have to gather your spirit “now I will do something important, necessary and responsible.” No, you just work out a little and without much effort.

During anxious times, morning exercises should be aimed at relaxation: strength exercises will only take away strength, while relaxation exercises – for example, qigong for the spine Sing Shen Juang – will work with habitual tension, release vitality and make the body flexible and free.

3. Breathing exercises – invigorate in the morning like nothing else. They allow you to get additional energy to stay in good shape all day. How to choose breathing practices? They should not take much time, but at the same time they should relax and fill at the same time. In the Taoist tradition, such exercises include women’s Taoist practices or neigong.

After you complete all three morning rituals, which should take no more than 45 minutes in total, you will feel both calm and empowered. You will have a reserve of energy to effectively live a new day.
