How to quickly pick strawberries

At first glance, there is nothing difficult about harvesting strawberries quickly. But this berry is so tender that simple haste in picking can only do much harm. Therefore, it is worth using some tips in order to pick the berry without crushing it into porridge.

When to pick – the best berries are harvested in maximum quantity during the season, as a rule, the peak of the strawberry season is June-July. What will help you pick strawberries faster:

– comfortable shoes, since you will have to work while squatting or kneeling,

– comfortable light trousers,

– knee pads if you prefer to work on your knees,

– collection time – either early in the morning, while it is not hot, or after 16:00 pm, when the sun is already going down,

– the container should not be too large – it is better to tie it to a belt or hang it around the neck, then it will be possible to wield with both hands when collecting. When you have a lot of strawberries, pour them into a common container, for example, into a bucket or a basin.

– berries are harvested from the same site every other day. If the weather is very hot, you can collect it daily.

Sort strawberries – large hard berries are good for storage, small and soft berries can be processed into strawberry jam or jam.
