How to quickly peel butter without a knife, video
Butter mushrooms are wonderful mushrooms, they are ideal for pickling for the winter. So that they do not taste bitter and look aesthetically pleasing, the cap must be cleaned of an oily film. And this is not so easy, because leaves, blades of grass, needles will surely stick to it … But you can get rid of all this stuff pretty quickly.
How to clean boletus: 3 rules
There are several ways to quickly peel mushrooms. But it is important to follow the basic rules.
1. It is necessary to clean the boletus immediately after harvesting (if the mushrooms were picked in dry weather). If possible, it is better to do it right away in the forest. It is easier and faster to remove debris from clean mushrooms and the film is well separated.
2. Do not soak mushrooms before cleaning, as they absorb water well and lose their hardness, and this makes cleaning difficult.
3. If the mushrooms were picked in rainy weather, then they must be dried before cleaning, spreading them out for a couple of hours in the sun or in the shade (in a ventilated place).
Quick cleaning methods
You can clean the boletus using a knife or without it. For the first option, you need to prepare a clean cloth by soaking it with vegetable oil. We wipe each mushroom cap with this cloth before cleaning. We grease our hands and a knife with oil too.
The film, wiped with an oily cloth, must be picked up with the tip of a knife and pulled. This prevents the film from tearing and peels off quickly. In addition, the oil is used in order to prevent the appearance of dark plaque on the hands. It will be very easy to wash the skin afterwards.
You can dip the mushroom caps in boiling water for half a minute, then remove the film with a knife. Alternatively, a colander is used – we put the mushrooms in it, and then hold it over the steam for 30 seconds.
To clean the butter quickly without a knife, such methods are used.
1. The mushroom cap, cleared of dirt and debris, must be pressed tightly against a piece of gauze. Pick up the film by the edge and, pulling on the gauze, remove it.
2. Break the mushroom in half to a film. Spread the halves of the cap to the sides and carefully remove the sticky film.
By the way
In order not to get your hands dirty, it is better to clean the oil with gloves. But if this is inconvenient, then you can moisten your hands in a solution of citric acid or vinegar and wipe with a pumice stone.
