How to quickly move from one Word table to another

Navigating to a specific page in Word is a common task and can easily be done using the dialog box Find and Replace (Find and replace). This window can also be used to navigate from one table to another within the same document.

The cursor does not have to be in a table to move to the next table. Place the cursor in any paragraph or table in the document and click F5 or key combination Ctrl + Gto open the dialog Find and Replace (Find and replace). tab Go to (Go) will open automatically. Select Table (Table) from the list Go to what (Transition object) and click Next (Further).

By pressing the button Previous (Back), you can go to the previous table.

You can also jump to a specific table if you enter its number in the field Enter table number (Enter table number) and click on Go to (Further). For example, if you are at the beginning of a document and type 3, then go to the third table in the document (assuming one exists). If you write “+” or “» in front of a number, the cursor will move relative to its current position. Let’s say if you give a value +3, the cursor will jump 3 tables ahead.

This tool is especially useful if the document is very long with many tables and you don’t want to scroll all the way to find the right one.
