Dialog window Font (Font) is used to format text. In particular – to change the font type or size, bold or italic. The window can be called in different ways. One of the quick and easy ways is the context menu.
Note: We used Word 2013 to illustrate how this tool works.
Select the text you want to format and right-click on it. A mini toolbar and context menu will appear. In the context menu, click Font (Font).
Note: You can also use the mini toolbar to set some commonly used formatting options. Dialog window Font (Font) gives you access to several additional features not found in the mini toolbar.
A dialog box of the same name will open. Set the desired formatting for the selected text and click OK… In the tab Additionally (Advanced) you can configure advanced options, including character spacing.
Dialog window Font (Font) can also be opened using the ribbon by clicking on the tab Home (Home) small icon with an arrow, which is located in the lower right corner of the command group Font (Font).
However, if you are used to working with a folded ribbon, this button will not be at hand. The context menu is useful for adjusting text formatting when working with the mouse. If you like to use keyboard shortcuts, press Ctrl + Dto open the dialog Font (Font).
