How to put in place a know-it-all

They are arrogant, swaggering, unreasonably consider themselves better, smarter and more beautiful than everyone else in the world and dismissive of others. It would seem that one can ignore them, but it is not so easy – effective methods of struggle are needed.

Smarties are not uncommon, and those who have encountered them will surely agree that their unprecedented swagger and arrogance cannot be sustained for more than five minutes. Inflated self-importance, pride, arrogance and a complete lack of empathy will piss anyone off. These people are ready to boast for hours of success, connections and a chic life, just to show that they are smarter and luckier than everyone in the world.

Smarties literally drain energy from us and can ruin our mood for the whole day. If you want to be left behind, remember eight phrases that will help put them in their place.

1. “And where did you get the idea that you are the navel of the earth?”

These people believe in their exclusivity and claim special treatment. The next time you notice that some bore is boasting of imaginary superiority, ask him this question. You will see, he will turn red like a cancer.

2. “Are you aware that not everyone thinks so?”

Know-it-alls are extremely self-confident. They always have unflattering words about others ready, but they consider their own opinion to be the only correct one. It’s especially frustrating when they try to impose it. If they try to do a similar trick with you, use this phrase to remind you that there are not so few who are ready to object.

3. “And why are you telling me about this?”

In order to amuse their ego and show off in front of others, tactless smarties allow themselves to devalue and even humiliate everyone who disagrees with their point of view. It costs them nothing to invent vile gossip or slander a person. If you are involved in such conversations, feel free to let us know that you are not going to participate in insidious conspiracies.

4. “Do you even realize that you look like an arrogant fool?”

Why endure lies, boasting and disparaging remarks about acquaintances, if it is easier to call a spade a spade? The smart guy will learn once and for all that you are not interested in the nonsense that he spouts – however, as well as himself.

5. “I hate to hear this!”

Connoisseurs lack a sense of proportion. They blurt out everything that comes into their heads, not at all considering those around them. If the snooty type is being rude, patronizing, or sarcastic and it offends you, say this phrase. Some of them still have the rudiments of conscience, they are able to stop when they realize that they are hurting someone.

6. “By the way, my dad too…”

In order to exalt themselves, smart people do their best to belittle other people’s dignity. They ridicule and criticize everything: gender, education, work, the appearance of others. Someone speaks contemptuously about people, and you are tired of listening to nasty things? It’s easy to stop. Simply state that your next of kin belongs to the same group that the arrogant person is slandering. No doubt, he will understand that no one will condone such an unceremonious and insulting attitude.

7. “I’m sure you didn’t mean it at all”

Most likely, he meant exactly what he said, and yet it is worth giving the ignorant the opportunity to take back his words. At a minimum, he will understand that you do not like his manners, and hold his tongue.

8. “Be a friend, shut your mouth!”

Too rough? Perhaps. But it is necessary to somehow rein in the presumptuous arrogant. And then, it is in this manner that they communicate with people. Even if you never allow yourself such expressions, use them without a trace of embarrassment if you want to interrupt their pompous chatter.
