How to put an end to the obsession with happiness?
If there was a recipe for happiness, it would be known and everyone would be happy! But to see all the personal development books that flood bookstores, it is a real trend in our current society.

What is happiness today?

Can we be happy without being free? To find happiness must we seek it? Rest assured, we are not going to give you a philosophy course or have you take the bac test again. It must nevertheless be recognized that « how to live happily ? »Is a recurring question in our life.

But what is happiness? A vast subject on which illustrious characters like Epicurus, Aristotle, Spinoza, Diderot and many others have sometimes worked their entire lives. For hedonists, happiness is linked to the pleasure of the senses; for the Stoics it is the opposite, happiness is found in self-control which consists in removing all passion. On the side of the Enlightenment philosophers, happiness must be collective and political.

And nowadays, what is happiness? Professional success? To be in a good health ? Have friends ? Start a family ? To be rich ? It is apparently all of these at the same time. But is this a really achievable goal?
