How to properly wash thermal underwear in order to preserve its properties for as long as possible? You will learn about this from our article.
How to wash thermal underwear: basic rules
There are a number of specific rules to follow when washing. How to wash thermal underwear in a washing machine?
- when washing such things, it is allowed to start a delicate or hand wash mode. In this case, the thing will not be exposed to aggressive action;
- water should not be heated above 40 degrees. Higher temperatures have a negative effect on the state of things: the fibers of the fabric are deformed, the thing loses its properties. For this reason, thermal underwear cannot be boiled and given for dry cleaning;
- it is strictly forbidden to use any force when spinning the laundry, so you need to turn off the spin mode. During washing with your hands, you cannot wring out the laundry either – the water must drain off on its own;
- you need to wash things either with special powders or liquid products. Standard detergent may remain in the fabric cells, reducing its warming properties. When washing, do not use chlorine-containing products.
It is also allowed to wash thermal underwear with your hands.
- Pour the required amount of liquid detergent into warm water.
- Dip the thing into the solution and gently wash the garment by simply squeezing it with your hands. Do not rub the surface of the product, as this contributes to the stretching of the fibers.
- After washing and rinsing, the garment can be wrung out slightly, but without using force or twisting it. Hang on a dryer or lay out on a flat surface away from heating appliances.
The manufacturer always indicates the necessary information on the product label. This concerns temperature conditions, the use of detergents, permission / prohibition on the use of automatic washing machines.
How often is it recommended to wash your thermal underwear? If things are used for sports, then washing should be done after each workout. For personal wardrobe items, this is 2-3 times a week. Experts do not recommend washing jackets made of thermal fabric too often.
