How to properly stamp
Learning to make a complex nail design at home.
Many years ago, a French manicure seemed to us the height of design art. And if the manicurist could artistically depict something on the nails, some flower or snowflake, there was no limit to admiration! Now, fortunately, girls have a huge selection of manicure design options, its colors, textures, up to the choice of a matte or glossy finish! But even contemporaries are not always aware of what stamping is and whether it can be done at home. Understanding!
What is stamping?
Stamping – from the word “stamp”. The design or pattern is applied to a special plate that is applied to the nails, and voila, the same pattern is imprinted on them! A second – and the design, on which the master would have spent an hour and a half, if he had drawn everything with a brush and paints, is ready. In such a hectic world, where every second counts, a woman cannot afford such a luxury as a two-hour manicure, which is why the stamping technique has become so popular and in demand.
Benefits of stamping
The speed of creating designs on the nails.
Ease of use of the stamping tool.
Precision of the drawing, in which even the smallest objects and thin lines are clearly visible.
The ability to make the most accurate drawings on different nails.
Large assortment of plates with designs.
The ability to use the plate to decorate other surfaces: a phone case, a book or a notebook, etc.
What’s in the stamping kit?
Metal plates – slabs on which drawings and patterns are engraved.
Scraper – This is a plastic or iron scraper, which spreads the varnish over the plate.
Stamping stamps. These are colored or transparent stamps that will transfer the pattern from the plate to the nail.
Stamping varnishes. They are highly pigmented, which allows the pattern to be reflected as clearly and vividly as possible on the nails. Dries like regular varnishes in the air
Gel paints. They dry in a lamp, which allows beginners to do stamping work a little slower than professionals.
Base and top. They are necessary to fix the pattern after it has been transferred to the nails. Tops will allow you to keep the image longer.
How to properly stamp
And now, in fact, let’s talk about the very technique of performing stamping. It is the same for performing by masters, as well as for creating stamping at home on your own. The only point: at first you can use the most common manicure varnish to fill your hand. Below we will tell you which one is better to choose for this kind of manicure.
Before creating a design using the stamping technique, you first need to prepare all the materials.
Degrease or use a sponge and nail polish remover over the plate, stamp and scraper.
Clean the stamp from dust and small particles using ordinary adhesive tape or a roller for cleaning. It is sold in specialized stores.
Stamping at home: step by step instructions
A monochromatic manicure on nails should be completely ready for applying patterns and images, that is, it should dry thoroughly so that as a result the whole picture does not smudge.
Around the nails, you can apply a special tool – a film on which part of the pattern from the stamp will be imprinted. This will make it easier for you to remove excess from the surface of the skin later.
Next, take the varnish and apply it to the plate with the selected pattern.
Use a scraper to run over the plate so that the varnish fills the entire space of the plate as well as possible.
Hurry up! The varnish should not have time to dry!
Take the stamp and gently apply it to the varnish plate. This will print the pattern onto the silicone or rubber pad.
Then apply the stamp to the nail in the place where you would like to see the pattern more.
If you did not protect the skin around the nails with a film, then remove the excess that has got on the skin with tape or a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover.
Apply a base or top to each nail to secure the result. If the drawing is large, then you need to use both the base and the top alternately.
PS We do not think it is necessary to tell that after each use of the materials it is necessary to clean them with a nail polish remover.
Life hack how to choose a stamping varnish
For beginners, ordinary manicure varnish is also suitable for work. But there is a nuance: it is important to choose it correctly. The varnish must be well pigmented, otherwise you will not get a clear and bright pattern.
How to choose a pigmented varnish?
Open a jar of nail polish and see if the bright nail polish liquid is enough? Does it overlap the color of the brush itself, or is the color of the brush visible even though you’ve scooped up enough polish?
If the color of the brush is not visible, then the varnish has a good level of pigmentation and is suitable for home stamping. That’s all!
