Makeup remover rule number one: don’t forget to take off your make-up at night. Rule number two: do it by the rules. We’ll tell you exactly how.
How to properly remove eye makeup
Make-up removal is the first step in evening skin care if you use decorative cosmetics. Only after it you can proceed to washing. And you need to start with the eyes.
- Apply eye makeup remover to cotton pads (not cotton!)
- Apply briefly to closed eyes to make mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow easier to remove.
- Swipe the disks over the movable eyelids from the bridge of the nose to the outer edge. On the lower eyelids – in the opposite direction.
- Repeat changing discs until no more makeup remains on them.
Use only eye products. Unlike ordinary ones, they preserve the hydrolipidic mantle of this delicate zone and do not dry it out. And besides, it is tested by ophthalmologists.
Soap, wet wipes and shower gels are not suitable for the skin of the eyelids.
In the area around the eyes, the number of sebaceous glands is small, so the skin of the eyelids is prone to dehydration. Among the best options for makeup removal:
- special gel or milk;
- two-phase agent;
- micellar solution;
- a hydrophilic oil that, on contact with water, turns into a foam or emulsion.
After removing makeup, wipe the eyelids with a tonic (lotion) for this area to remove makeup residue. Then apply eye cream.
Eye make-up removal with eyelash extensions
All that is important to know about eyelash extensions is that they are not dyed with mascara. However, shadows, eyeliner or glitter from the skin of the eyelids will have to be removed in any case.
You need to remove eye makeup with a cotton pad, but not with cotton wool!
To remove makeup with eyelash extensions, the same products are useful as in a normal situation, except for a two-phase liquid, which can destroy the glue.
Top 5 mistakes when removing eye makeup
- Too much pressure on the eyelids, rubbing movements.
- Use of funds intended for the face.
- Reciprocating movements with a cotton pad (back and forth).
- Using a single cotton pad for make-up removal.
- Neglect of washing after removing makeup.
The skin around the eyes is very delicate and vulnerable, it does not tolerate excessive friction, otherwise it quickly ages, dries out, and loses elasticity.
