We will tell you how to grow good vegetables on your six hundred square meters.

The optimal width of the cucumber bed is 100 cm, the height is 25 cm, the distance between the rows is 50-60 cm, between the ribbons is 80 cm, and in the row between the plants – more than 20 cm. For an early harvest in the first half of May and before the beginning of June in unheated greenhouse we plant 25-day-old seedlings in pots or containers (cucumbers do not tolerate root system disturbances). For 1 sq. m no more than 4 plants are planted. To extend the harvest (before frost), you can re-grow the seedlings and plant them in a greenhouse in July. Cucumbers can be compacted by planting Peking cabbage, lettuce, onions, dill, garlic.
Cucumbers are liana, their stems require additional support. The trellis made of wire or cord are stretched at a height of 150–200 cm along the direction of each row. A week after planting, a string is attached to the trellis above each plant, which is tied to the plant with a free loop at a height of 10-15 cm.
The soil should be well loosened, but work must be done carefully so as not to damage the roots. Cucumbers need abundant moisture. Plants should be watered with warm water in the morning and, if possible, on sunny days (twice a week). To avoid burns, water should not be poured directly onto the leaves; it is better to use a drip irrigation system.
Plants in the greenhouse are generously fed with organic substances: manure, rotted debris, peat or sawdust. The first feeding is at the beginning of flowering. When the fruiting period is underway, feeding is carried out four more times.
For feeding, you can use fermented infusions of chicken manure, mullein, as well as some weeds, for example, nettle, burdock (burdock). Special mineral fertilizers for pumpkin crops are also used.
It happens like this: the plant blooms, but there are no cucumbers. This happens because sometimes there are many female flowers and there are no male flowers (pollinators), and, conversely, mainly male flowers are formed in the cold. To prevent this from happening, use parthenocarpic (self-pollinated) varieties when sowing. Or pollinate the plants by hand using a soft brush (by transferring pollen from a male (without a cucumber) flower to a female (with a cucumber).
Powder from pests with ash, spray with chamomile infusion (200 g per 10 liters), daily infusion of garlic (150-200 g per 10 liters), 1-2 days infusion of celandine (1 kg of celandine per 10 liters of water). Regular spraying with an ash solution (a 10 liter glass), spraying with a 1% solution of Bordeaux mixture (7-3 times every 4 days) helps against fungal diseases. If green oily spots appear on the leaves, you need to temporarily stop feeding and spraying, and then treat them with a solution of copper sulfate. If there are signs of powdery mildew (white bloom), spray the cucumbers with a solution of potassium permanganate, mullein or sulfaride paste. Good results are obtained by spraying cucumbers with systemic fungicides. After treatment, you need to ventilate the greenhouse and prevent the temperature from dropping below 20 ° C during the day and 18 ° C at night.
Cucumbers turn yellow when they are stuffy and hot or lack phosphorus and nitrogen
