School is one of the most important stages of growing up in a person’s life. In it, he spends as much as eleven years. Before going to school, the child must be prepared, and we will tell you in detail and in an extremely accessible way how to do this.
How to properly prepare your child for school
If your toddler hasn’t attended kindergarten, it will be difficult for him to get used to the fact that teachers do not give each student the proper attention. Educators interact specifically with a group of children, using individual work only on rare occasions.
Explain to your child that he will now be on a par with the rest of the children. He comes to school to gain knowledge, and parents are created to take care of. Remind your child to make friends and be friendly with everyone. No one will beg him for friendship, you must take the initiative yourself.
Children are subject to the so-called herd instinct, so if several students like your child, then after a few days the whole class will have a genuine sympathy for him.
About behavior
Teach him to stand up for himself, but not to fight on every occasion, not to react to jackets and attempts to hurt, but also not to be silent when things are getting serious. Nobody says that one should complain about any reason, but there is no point in enduring resentment.
Explain to your son or daughter that they will now have much less free time. Work on perseverance.
Explain that you cannot talk during the lesson, leave the office (class) without asking, be disobedient and loud, shout something without the teacher’s permission. Work on his posture and how to raise his hand to ask a question. Talk about good manners and courtesy.
The student should be polite, greet all teachers and adults, not object or swear. Train him to work. Let him help to be on duty in the class: wash the board, water the flowers, throw pieces of paper and candy wrappers into the trash can.
One year before school, you can start teaching your child to a special regime, i.e. get up at seven or eight in the morning, go to bed at nine in the evening.
Required preschool knowledge
Your baby should be able to read at least syllables, write in block letters or even single letters in words, it is imperative to know the alphabet. Teach him to count to ten (in forward and reverse order) and tens to one hundred. Counting sticks are ideal for this.
Learn the seasons, days of the week, home address, parents’ names. Develop the kid’s memory, he should know quatrains and simple poems, proverbs, songs and ditties.
Useful Tips
After physical education lessons, the little student will have to dress himself. He should carefully fold his school uniform in a drawer or hang it on a hanger, and tie the laces on his sneakers. At first, you can buy shoes with Velcro, but this cannot last forever. Teach the preschooler the usual bow knot.
If your child is used to being picky with food and being capricious when choosing dishes, then it’s time to wean him from such behavior. There is only one menu in the school cafeteria, and meals should not be skipped so as not to harm the body. Let him learn to eat regular, balanced meals.
To make it interesting for a little student to go to school, we advise you to purchase bright stationery. If at school strict monophonic notebooks are a mandatory requirement, then no one canceled multi-colored pens, pencils, erasers and pencil cases.
Give a first grader bookmarks with his favorite characters from fairy tales or cartoons. Buy a lightweight briefcase or small satchel.
