How to plant a peach correctly
Forming a garden with fruit trees is not an easy task. In order to get a good harvest, you need to know how to plant a peach. Planting a plant is an important stage on which a lot depends. If you plant a fruit tree incorrectly, then it may not take root and die. Therefore, it is important to plant the peach in the fall correctly and carefully.
Planting a peach depends on which region you live in. Since winter comes at different times in different lanes, you need to build on this when planting a tree.
It is recommended to plant at different times for different regions:
- If winter in your area comes in late October or early November, then planting is best done in early September. So the seedling will have time to get stronger before the onset of cold weather.
- If you live in a hot climate, and your winter comes late and it is not cold, then you can plant the plant until the second half of November.
- If you have a temperate climate and winter comes in October or November, then growing a peach is pointless. Even if the plant survives in this climate, it is unlikely to bear fruit.
So, it is best to grow a peach in the southern regions of Russia, Crimea, Krasnodar Territory and in other warm regions.
How to plant a peach in the fall?
Pay special attention to the choice of the seedling: it must be strong and look good. Do not buy seedlings from unverified sellers, as there is the possibility of deception. If you decide to plant a peach in the fall, then check that the plant has ended its growing season.
Before planting a tree in the ground, it is recommended to immerse it in rainwater for 24 hours. It is necessary that both the trunk and the branches are in the water.
When buying a seedling, pay attention to its roots. There should be many roots. A peach with one large root may not take root
Plant the plant on the sunny side of the area, sheltered from the cold wind. Better to fence off the plant on the north side. Do not plant the peach tree next to other trees that are older. It can die there. The distance between trees must be at least 2,5 meters between each other.
Do not plant a tree in a place where another fruit plant has recently grown, as there are many pests in this place, and a new seedling can become sick
Planting includes several stages:
- The size of the pit must be at least 0,5 x 0,5 x 0,5. But pay attention to the root system, if it is large, then dig a hole in size.
- Fertilize the soil before planting the tree.
- Pour a bucket of water into the hole and wait for it to absorb.
- Place the seedling in the hole, be careful with the roots.
- While holding it, cover it with earth evenly.
- Tie the tree to the supports, then water and compact the ground.
- At a distance of half a meter, create a roller of the ground that will deliver water when irrigated to the roots.
By following these simple planting rules, you can plant a tree without damaging its roots. After planting, it is necessary to prepare the seedling for winter by insulating it.
Planting a peach seedling is an activity that requires a lot of attention and adherence to the rules. But by making an effort to this and providing the necessary care for the young tree, you will get a strong plant that will delight you with juicy fruits every year.
