😉 Greetings to regular readers and visitors of the site! Friends, any trip or trip starts with packing your suitcase. The duration of the trip determines the amount of things you need to take with you. Here are tips on how to pack your suitcase on vacation and not take unnecessary things.
Everyone has probably heard of such persons who take two suitcases of things on a three-day trip. It’s scary to imagine how much such ladies charge for a two-week trip. Chances are they are chartering another plane for their luggage.
In this article, we will look at how many things you need to take to travel to a hot country for two weeks. And how to turn collecting your suitcase into an easy fun action.
How to pack a suitcase
The first point – What to take from things?
Regardless of where you fly: to Thailand, Egypt, Greece – the basic set of things is as follows:
- swimsuit 1-2 sets;
- pareo-2 pieces;
- sundress 1;
- skirt – 1;
- shorts – 1;
- T-shirt -2;
- underwear – 2 sets.
A minimum of things!
Practice shows that while on vacation in a hotel, which is 200-300 meters from the sea, it makes no sense to take a large number of things. We go to the beach in a pareo and a swimsuit, to a restaurant in sundresses and skirts.
The illusion is created that there should be at least 10 of these skirts and sundresses. This is not true. Believe me, no one on vacation will notice that you came to dinner in the same place as for lunch.
Thus, it makes no sense to take with you a large number of dresses and other bulky items of your beautiful wardrobe.
If you are going on excursions, you need to bring comfortable shoes, preferably a closed, long skirt or shorts. Cotton long pants are also fine. Be sure to bring a long-sleeved sweater. In it you will be comfortable in an air-conditioned bus.
A headdress (hat, scarf, cap) is a must-have for your wardrobe in hot countries. And in European cities it will come in handy in spring and summer.
For lovers of outdoor activities and diving, I recommend stocking up on fins and swimming goggles. These accessories will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world for free. Of course, such things are rented in diving centers, but you will have to pay a pretty big sum for them.
Footwear
If you want to “walk” your new stiletto sandals in Thailand, then this is a very bad idea. There is a chance of breaking limbs. Experienced and smart travelers take three pairs of shoes on a trip:
- Flip flops for the beach, shower, pool.
- Sandals on a small comfortable wedge heel for a restaurant and walks along the promenade.
- Sneakers for excursions and city walks.
This is the maximum set that will come in handy for you. Some girls combine wedges and flip flops and save space in a suitcase for … a cosmetic bag.
There are people who travel for the first time and, therefore, take ALL cosmetics and medicines that are in the house. This is bad. Because of this, you have to pay extra for the overweight.
Cosmetics and medicines
Here is a list of what should be in your first aid kit:
- shampoo shower gel;
- conditioner-rinse;
- hair remedy for sun and sea water;
- anti-combustion agent;
- toothpaste and brush;
- moisturizing cream for face and body;
- some decorative cosmetics (mascara and lipstick, eyeliner and shadows).
I will say right away that if you take a foundation, even the most expensive one, you risk getting acne and blackheads. You can take a mini version of your favorite perfume. You can take a regular bottle, but there is a risk that airport workers will borrow it (and this has happened).
There must be medicines in the first-aid kit:
- painkillers;
- antipyretic;
- for colds (ARVI, flu);
- bactericidal plaster;
- hydrogen peroxide (wound treatment);
- medicine for headache;
- panthenol (for sunbathers);
- thermometer;
- Activated carbon;
- iodine, brilliant green, bandage.
If you have any additional sores, be sure to take your medicine for them.
The second point – How to pack a suitcase so that everything fits?
It’s simple. We put the shoes on the sides of the suitcase, on the very bottom we put the fins. Next, put the dresses and pareos, put them in one layer. You can also fold your clothes into neat rollers – this way they wrinkle less and take up less space.
We put swimsuits on the dresses, a warm jacket on the swimsuits. We put a cosmetic bag with hygiene items and medicines on a warm jacket. Don’t forget an interesting book. Chargers for gadgets are best placed in your carry-on luggage. 😉 Enjoy your trip!
