If you need to work with several Word documents at once, then you can easily open these documents at the same time, each in a separate window. To do this, you just need to select a few files, as you always do in Windows Explorer.
When you start Word, the home screen opens with a list of recent documents. Click the link Open other documents (Open Other Documents).
Note: If you already have a new or existing document open, and you need to open more additional documents, then go to the tab File (File) and click Open (Open). Quickly jump to window Open (Open) can also be pressed by keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + A.
In the Open (Open) click Компьютер (Computer) to select files on your personal computer.
Note: Similarly, you can open multiple files from your OneDrive cloud storage. To do this, the menu Open (Open) click OneDrive.
On the right side of the window, find and click the button Review (Browse), which is located under the list of recent folders.
A dialog box will open Opening a document (Open). Instead of opening a file with a double click, use multiple selection. The file selection process is exactly the same as in Windows Explorer. Holding down a key Shift, you can select multiple related files. With key Ctrl you can select multiple non-contiguous files (see figure below). To include or exclude the selected file from the list, click on it while holding down the Ctrl.
When you have selected all the required files, click Open (Open).
Each file you select will open in a separate window. Just switch between these windows to work with one or another file.
Similarly, you will be able to open several documents at the same time in Excel or PowerPoint.
