This happens to each of us: there is a very necessary and important thing, but you still can’t get started on it … And you think about it all day, and dream about it at night, but you don’t want to do it ! Well, don’t like it! How to force yourself to do something that does not have a soul? Sometimes you can force, and sometimes you can agree with yourself, you can captivate and motivate yourself. There are a lot of clues here, and sometimes the clues will be different — one for men, others for women.

Here are tips for women. Women are often affected by things that are incomprehensible to men, but it really helps women. So, we are studying: how to force yourself to do what you don’t want to do?

On the other hand, self-motivation is not something abstract that sometimes comes to us and sometimes leaves. Self-motivation is what we do so that we always have energy and a desire to do what we choose to do.

Positive

You can force yourself, or you can interest, arouse desire in yourself. (See Positive Self-Motivation). It’s a little harder and more troublesome than pushing yourself, but the results are much more attractive. Methods that help you easily start a new business:

Organization of life, building a situation

Well, you started doing what you wanted — then you need to work vigorously and for a long time. Here the organization of life will help you: it is not a stick and not a carrot, not a bribe and not coercion, but such a natural organization of life, when everything that should happen happens by itself. (see Organization of life). For example, the walls in your apartment: strictly speaking, they control the direction of your movement when you go from the hallway to the kitchen or bedroom. But at the same time, to say that they «force» you to go a certain route … — no, the walls do not force you. They just stand where they stand, and you follow the path that the walls have built. This is the organization of life. Several effective methods:

  • Make it a habit
  • Time management: plan and schedule

Negative

The negative also works great and sometimes it is simply irreplaceable, it just happens to captivate, and then from a convenient tool it turns into a dangerous monster that already lives its own life and subordinates us to its desires. See Negative self-motivation).

Attention! Self-motivation and self-organization are useful and good things. But if over and over again you can’t motivate or organize yourself to work using these methods, you don’t need to waste time and look for new methods. You just need to do it. As a metaphor: if you have nothing to eat and you go to the store, and the sun is shining outside, it’s nice and great. But if it’s raining outside the window, and you have to go, then you, despite the rain, will still go to the store. Yes? Then go ahead!

When we have a sea of ​​energy, we don’t want to sit at the table, do our homework. When the energy is low, it is difficult to get yourself off the couch. To motivate yourself to this or that business, you can either encourage or force yourself. This is sometimes referred to as positive and negative self-motivation.

Positive motivation often includes such techniques as a piggy bank of positive energy and support for one’s achievements: visualization of dreams, encouragement and rewards. See the Ten Rules of Self-Motivation for more information.

To negative motivation — control of one’s own behavior: reminders, negative reinforcement of one’s mistakes, self-punishment, fines.

Negative motivation is usually stronger, while positive motivation is more environmentally friendly and longer lasting. In practice, it is better to combine both positive and negative self-motivation, choosing between them the most suitable balance for you.

It is important to know that self-motivation is not the most reliable way to move yourself towards your goals. In order to live and work more efficiently, it is useful to use the methods of effective self-organization.
