How to moisturize your office skin

In cold weather, as a rule, the number of external stress factors increases, which negatively affect the condition of the skin and hair. Wind and frost, large temperature drops when leaving the heat to the street and vice versa – all this cannot but injure our skin. Expert Ekaterina Solomko, brand manager of the NIVEA Hand skin care category, told Woman’s Day about how to moisturize the skin in the office.

In the fall, the skin and the body as a whole are often faced with the problem of dehydration, the causes of which are:

dry air in rooms with heating;

thin frosty air outside;

reducing the amount of water consumed.

This is why, in cold weather, skin care should be adjusted, paying more attention to hydration. In this article, you will find 5 simple tips on how to moisturize your office skin.

Tip 1: drink plenty of water

An adult must consume at least 2 liters of water per day. It is important to understand that this calculation is not about tea and coffee, but about pure water.

It is very important to maintain the water balance of the body from the inside – try to change your eating habits, focus on counting the glasses you drink (there should be at least eight glasses a day), and you will notice how your skin condition improves.

To test, try taking a photo of your face “before” and then a photo “after” a week of daily consumption of 2 liters of water – and you will see the difference.

Tip 2: put hand moisturizer in your work area

The skin of the hands, as a rule, suffers especially from dryness in the cold, because it is by nature practically devoid of protection. Since it is not recommended to apply cream with a large amount of a hydrocomponent to your hands before going outside in the cold season, you can provide your hands with intense hydration, for example, in the office.

Use light textured products that are easily absorbable so that the cream on your hands doesn’t stop you from getting back to work quickly.

It is an easy and effective way to deal with dry air in a heated office. If it is not possible to purchase a humidifier, you can place a bowl of water next to your workplace.

One of the reasons for dry skin can be a lack of certain vitamins and nutrients. Try adding foods rich in vitamin E (oatmeal, prunes, spinach, nuts) and omega-3s (fish, green vegetables, nuts, fruits) to your diet.

Tip 5: Choose Your Care Products Carefully

In winter, it is especially important to pay attention to the composition of the moisturizer. If there is too much hydrocomponent in it, then when you go outside, a spasm of peripheral vessels can be provoked.

As a result, skin cells will not receive enough nutrition. A winter moisturizer should contain more lipid (fatty and nutritious) components, and for deep moisturizing, it is better to choose an evening or weekend, when you do not need to immediately run into the cold.
