How to make waffle cake

For the first time, waffles began to be prepared in ancient Greece. For a long time, the secret of their preparation was kept secret, but after the secret of this crispy dessert fell into the hands of European chefs, it underwent many changes, as each chef tried to add something of his own to them.

 

The waffle cake has many recipes, since every housewife, like the European chefs who got their hands on the recipe for making waffles, tries to add something of their own to the recipe.

If you are expecting guests, and there is no time to cook waffles, then you can buy ready-made waffles in the store and prepare only the filling for the cake. But of course, one cannot compare ready-made waffles with those that are made by hand.

 

Waffles for the cake are combined with almost any filling, so you can come up with something new every time, amazing your home and guests with a variety of tastes of this sweet.

When choosing ready-made wafer cakes in the store, make sure they are not soft or burnt. If you cook the cakes yourself, then it is better to use only egg yolks for the dough.

The waffle dough should be the same consistency as the pancake dough. Do not be afraid to experiment and add various ingredients to the dough that will give the dough an original taste: cinnamon, vanilla, etc.

Experienced chefs recommend serving waffle cake on the table as soon as possible after cooking. If the cake is kept for a long time, the waffles will become soft from the filling and settle, the cake will lose its taste and characteristic crunch.

Waffle cake made of ready-made shortcakes with chocolate icing

 

Experienced housewives always keep a pack of ready-made wafer cakes in stock, which help out in the event of unexpected guests or lack of time to prepare homemade waffles.

Ingredients:

  • Wafer cakes – 1 pack
  • Butter – 300 gr.
  • Condensed milk – 300 gr.
  • Milk – 3 tbsp. l.
  • Cocoa – 5 tsp
  • Chocolate – 30 gr.
  • Sugar – 5 st. l.

Soften butter, 1 tbsp. l. leave to prepare the glaze. Mix butter with condensed milk. Spread the cakes. And put the cake in the refrigerator.

 

Mix sugar, 4 tsp. cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, add 1 tbsp to the glaze. l. butter.

Pour the icing over the cake and refrigerate. When the frosting has set, sprinkle the grated chocolate and the remaining cocoa on the cake.

Serve the cake immediately after cooking.

 

Homemade waffle cake with cherries

You can use any other berries for the filling of this cake.

Ingredients:

 

– For waffles:

  • Egg – 3Pcs.
  • Butter – 180 gr.
  • Sugar – 180 gr.
  • Flour – 300 gr.
  • Vanilla – a pinch
  • Slaked soda – 1/3 tsp

– For filling:

  • Cream – 400 gr.
  • Sugar – 2 st. l.
  • Canned cherries – 3 tbsp. l.

– For glaze:

 
  • Butter – 1 tablespoons l.
  • Sour cream – 2-3 tbsp. l.
  • Cocoa – 3 tsp
  • Sugar to taste

For the dough: beat eggs with sugar. Gradually introduce flour, stirring constantly, add melted butter, slaked soda, beat everything thoroughly. The dough should be free of lumps, elastic consistency, as for pancakes.

Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Pour the dough into special molds, grease them with oil and bake for 2-3 minutes.

For the cream: whip cream with sugar and vanilla. Lubricate the finished cakes with cream, spreading cherries on them.

For glaze: Mix cocoa and sugar, add sour cream, put on low heat, add butter, cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.

Pour the finished icing over the cake, evenly distributing it over the surface. Put the cake in the refrigerator to freeze.

Waffle cake with honey chocolate nut filling

Making a cake will take no more than half an hour.

Ingredients:

  • Wafer cakes – 1 pack
  • Sugar – 1 st.
  • Butter – 200 gr.
  • Cocoa – 2 Art. l
  • Honey – 4 Art. l
  • Walnuts – 1,5 tbsp

Dilute butter in a saucepan, add sugar, honey, cocoa, mix everything. Chop the nuts and add them to the saucepan. Cook over low heat for 3 minutes. Lubricate each crust with nut cream, except for the topmost one.

Place the cake in the fridge to freeze the cream and serve.

Waffle cake with fruit

Ingredients:

For the filling of this cake, you can use any fruit you like.

  • Wafer cakes – 1 pack
  • Curd mass – 200 gr.
  • Banana – 1 pcs.
  • Peach – 1 amount
  • Raspberry – 1 pc.
  • Sugar to taste

Grease the finished wafer cakes with curd mass. Cut the fruit into small pieces. Place fruit on each crust, sprinkle with sugar if necessary. Fold the cakes and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

Waffle cake with chocolate-lemon filling

Ingredients:

  • Wafer cakes – 1 pack
  • Condensed milk – 1 can
  • Butter – 250 gr.
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Lemon cedar – 1/2 pc.
  • Dark chocolate – 1 bar

For Chocolate Cream: Melt half the dark chocolate bar. Do this in a water bath or microwave.

Add 100 gr. soft butter. To stir thoroughly.

Add half a can of condensed milk and stir again.

For lemon cream: mix the remaining condensed milk and butter (leave 1 tablespoon butter for the icing), add lemon zest and juice. Mix all.

Lubricate each cake in turn with chocolate and lemon cream. Fold the cakes. Cover the top cake with glaze.

To prepare the icing, melt the remaining chocolate with a spoonful of butter. Mix everything. Grease the top cake with chocolate icing.

Put the cake in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
