How to make milk froth? Video

In most cases, housewives are interested in how to whip cream, since many desserts are prepared on their basis, but the question of how to get foam from milk arises no less often. Without it, it is impossible to enjoy aromatic cappuccino or latte coffee.

There are not so many ways to get foam from milk, and they depend on whether the process is carried out with improvised means or using a coffee machine. The latter greatly facilitates getting the desired coffee, but if the purchase of this unit has not yet been budgeted for, you can do without it.

How milk froth is made in a coffee machine

The foam in the coffee machine is whipped in a special metal flask, into which you just need to pour milk and place the flask under the steam tap. In this case, it can be turned on only after the crane is immersed in the vessel. There should be free space between the milk and the spout of the tap, since it is on this edge that foam will appear.

Milk is used for this with normal fat content, in the range of 2,5-3,2%. You should not take more fatty ones, since this will not affect the quality of the process. The height of the froth depends more on the intensity of whipping, and not on the fat content of the milk, although there is an opinion that if something does not work out with this, then you should start with variations on the fat content of milk. So if you don’t get foam with a percentage of 3,2, it makes sense to try a fatty product.

How can you make foam without a coffee machine

For hammering you will need: – warmed milk; – whisk, mixer, blender or any other unit designed for whipping.

Milk must be warmed up, as cold foam will not work on it. But this does not mean that it should be very hot or boiled. It is enough to slightly warm it in the microwave to make the milk a little warmer than body temperature. You can check this by touch: it will be slightly hot.

After that, it remains to beat it using nozzles in the form of flat spatulas or whisk. But you should not expect that the foam on milk will be similar to that obtained on cream: even if you beat the liquid for several hours, at best you can get a not too thick layer of bubbles, but not a dense cap.

You can try using a regular French press to beat the foam, which also brings a certain result.

Special products for frothing milk

In addition to a coffee machine equipped with a steam valve, special milk mixers can foam milk. They differ from the usual ones in their more compact size and the fact that they cannot be found in every store. Some of them work not even from the mains, but on ordinary batteries. Equipping with special attachments allows you to speed up the process, but in principle you can use a regular mixer or blender for this.
