How to make lollipops? Video recipe
More recently, one of the most beloved and widespread delicacies was lollipop. Such sweetness was made in the form of circles, fish, animals, but the most recognizable were, of course, cockerels. Now finding such a delicacy is already more difficult, but you can make it yourself at home, delighting yourself and your loved ones with a taste familiar from childhood.
Preparing ingredients for sugar candies
To make lollipops, you need sticks and molds. The easiest option is to take toothpicks and small saucers, but if you have special molds for making candy, especially in the form of familiar cockerels, use them. You will also need the following products:
– 100 g of water; – 300 g of sugar; – vegetable oil; – flavoring additives.
You can take apple syrup, lemon juice, cocoa, fruit drink as flavoring additives. By experimenting with additional ingredients, you can create new flavors of sugar candy. The amount of additives should not exceed 2 tbsp. l.
It is very important that the vegetable oil you use is odorless and tasteless. The fact is that it is used to separate the finished lollipops from the walls of the molds, and if you choose the wrong ingredient, the treat will get an unpleasant aftertaste. The best option would be quality olive oil. Also, keep in mind that when preparing the solution, you should not make the common mistake of replacing water with jam, otherwise you will not achieve the desired result.
How to make sugar lollipops at home
Take the dishes in which you plan to cook the candies and add sugar to them. You can use a saucepan, ladle, deep skillet, or even a large metal mug. Then pour in water and stir gently. Place the cookware over medium heat for 8-10 minutes. In the meantime, you can prepare the molds: rinse them, dry them and oil them thoroughly.
During the preparation of lollipops, you need to constantly monitor the sugar solution. In no case, do not leave the stove even for 5 minutes and constantly look to see if the delicacy is being prepared correctly. The fact is that sugar can burn out very quickly, in which case the only thing left for you to do is pour out the solution and do all the work again. Be very careful that the liquid does not change color too quickly: if it turns dark brown, it means that the sugar has burned out, and the candy has an unpleasant burnt aftertaste.
When you see the sugar syrup become viscous and light brown in color, remove the cookware from the heat. Then pour the liquid into the pre-prepared molds and attach a stick or toothpick to each mold. You just have to wait until the candies are frozen. Then carefully separate them from the molds, being careful not to damage them. If necessary, remove the remaining vegetable oil from them, and then you can enjoy a pleasant candy taste.
