For the preparation of garlic powder, you need to choose high quality intact, preferably young garlic. Such a vegetable will make a fragrant, healthy seasoning. You will need 3 large heads of garlic to make half a cup of garlic powder. The teeth should be separated, peeled and cut into thin slices.

Next, the plates of garlic should be dried. Place the garlic in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Preheat oven to the lowest possible temperature. Place the garlic in the oven for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave the baking sheet in the oven for 45 minutes.

This procedure should be repeated several times until the plates literally crumble in your hands. The drying process of the garlic is quite long – about 4 hours.

Thoroughly dried garlic should be chopped with a coffee grinder or a special electric grinder. Garlic powder can be sieved if desired.

To keep the garlic seasoning longer and not lose its flavor, place it in a glass jar with a lid and send it to a cool dark place. The shelf life of garlic powder is several months.
