How to make flour paste for wallpaper
Have you decided to give up industrial glue and prepare the mixture yourself? Then arm yourself with a bucket or basin, a small stirring stick, flour and water.
Both wheat and rye flour are suitable, but for crafts it is better to use a light variety.
Bring the liquid in the bucket to a boil. Then remove from heat and add flour in small portions. Pour it in until the solution looks like a batter.
It is this consistency that will be optimal.
Remember to stir the mixture constantly, otherwise lumps will appear in it.
If you have not been able to completely get rid of them, it does not matter. Just pass the solution afterwards either through cheesecloth folded in several layers, or through a sieve.
The resulting paste must be left for a while to cool down completely. Only a cold solution can be used for its intended purpose.
It must be prepared immediately before use.
Flour paste cannot be stored even for a day. It thickens, dries up and loses its properties.
