How to make chewing gum at home?

It is unlikely that you will be able to make a chewing gum similar to a purchased one on your own: such chewing gum is made from synthetic polymers on special equipment. But the simpler chewing gum is quite easy to prepare.

Gummies can be made for a small child. The texture of this marmalade resembles chewing gum, it can be swallowed without health consequences. To prepare gummy gum, you will need: – 100 ml of fruit juice; – 20 g (1 package) of gelatin; – 1 tsp. starch; – 100 ml of water; – 300 ml of sugar syrup; – 5 tbsp. l. lemon juice.

Instead of homemade gum, you can chew on a honeycomb. They are sold by beekeepers. This natural gum is both tasty and healthy.

Heat the fruit juice a little in the microwave, then pour gelatin over it and leave until it swells. Pour the sugar syrup into a bowl and heat it slightly. You can add flavoring, food coloring, or some grated zest / cinnamon / vanilla if desired.

When the syrup is warmed up, add the starch and swollen gelatin to it. Stir the mixture until smooth, then strain it through a sieve. Pour the resulting mass into small molds and send to the refrigerator for 6-8 hours. After that, the gummies are ready to eat.

To prepare real gum, you need to buy a special gum base – gum base. It can be found in some supermarkets or in specialized online stores. So, you will need: – 1 tbsp. l. bases for gum; – 1 tsp. corn syrup; – 2 tbsp. l. starch; – 2 drops of food coloring; – flavoring additive – to taste.

If you don’t have corn syrup, you can add any sugar-free syrup or young liquid honey instead.

Before making your homemade gum, microwave the base for about 90 seconds until the gum is comfortable to work with. When the gum base has softened, add the syrup to it and knead the mixture, trying to make it smooth.

When you achieve a homogeneous consistency, put the future chewing gum on a hill of starch and begin to knead it as if you were preparing dough. When the mass becomes firm and smooth, add color and flavor to it. Then mix everything again thoroughly. The resulting chewing gum can be cut into pads, strips, stars, hearts, etc. After that, put the finished chewing gum in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.

Natural tree resin gum: recipe

You can make chewing gum at home from tree resin. To do this, you will need: – cherry tree resin or coniferous resin (for example, larch); – powdered sugar.

For a refreshing gum, you can use a small piece of ginger root or a few grains of cardamom.

For chewing gum, pick up the pieces of bark that have resin beads on them. Place the bark and resin in a colander and place over a pot of water. Cover the dishes with a lid and put them on the fire. As soon as the water boils, the bark will languish in a water bath. At the same time, resin and juice will begin to stand out.

After the resin from the bark has completely evaporated (this will happen 30 minutes after the start of the boil), cool the water, and then remove the resin from it. Roll the resulting mass into a sausage, then cut it into pieces of the same thickness. To add a sweet taste to the gum, sprinkle the gum with icing sugar. Wrap each of them in candy wrappers to prevent drying out. Resin chewing gum turns out to be very aromatic and also pleasant to the taste.
