Sanitary and Epidemiological Booklet is an important document confirming the absence of sticks of certain bacteria in the human body. However, the obligation to have it was lifted in 2008. It has been replaced by a medical certificate for sanitary and epidemiological purposes. This document helps to prevent the outbreak of an epidemic. It is sufficient for people working in hospitals, producing and selling food. How to make a Sanepidowa book?

Sanepidowska book – characteristics

The Act of December 7, 2008 on preventing and combating infections and infectious diseases in humans (Journal of Laws of 2008, No. 234, item 1570, as amended) indicates that decision for sanitary and epidemiological purposes. In practice, however, this ruling is still in the form of a booklet, because the act did not specify what it should look like. In addition, it should also be remembered that, regardless of the form of this certificate, it requires the same procedure and the same tests to be performed.

Sanitary and Epidemiological Booklet must be prepared by people who undertake work that requires eliminating the risk of transmitting infections or infectious diseases to other people. It is a question of the safety of others around us at work.

Important!

The booklet is obligatory for people who work in professions that require contact with food and water intended for consumption by other people, and in professions related to oral medications, injections, etc. In addition, the Sanitary Booklet must also be obtained by people who wash dishes or any containers that come into contact with food , water and medicines, as well as people working with children up to 6 years of age.

The booklet is to be a guarantee that the person who comes into contact with food, for example, is not infected with typhoid fever, paratyphoid A, B or C, as well as Shigella and Salmonella. If the presence of any pathogens is found, such a person cannot be allowed to work in a given profession.

Sanepidowska book, i.e. the aforementioned decision, can be made at any point of the Sanepidów in Poland. Sanitary and epidemiological stations can be found in almost every city in Poland.

Sanepidowska book – research

A referral for research is issued to the employee by the employer. This document includes, inter alia, address of the nearest sanitary and epidemiological station where samples can be submitted for testing. Three stool samples from 3 consecutive days are needed for the test. The collected samples should be placed in special containers, which can be bought in pharmacies or obtained free of charge at the health center. Then you have to wait for 1-2 weeks for the results.

Most often, however, employers require up-to-date research at the time of employment. This means that, in practice, the employee has to pay for the tests himself.

Sanepidowska book – updating

After receiving the results, you should take them to an occupational medicine physician, who, after analyzing them, issues an appropriate certificate of fitness for the job. In the decision (i.e. in the booklet) there is also room for subsequent test dates.

The date is determined by the doctor. This is what the doctor determines validity date of the Sanepid booklet. The doctor himself determines whether it is necessary to repeat the examinations necessary for the booklet. The validity period depends on the nature of the work we perform, our health condition and the place of work.

Good to know!

Unfortunately, the act does not specify when it is necessary to repeat the research. It happens, therefore, that the decision is issued indefinitely, so there is no need to repeat the procedure and incur further costs.

However, if the results show that you are carrying, for example, Salmonella, you will not be allowed to work. In such a situation, it is not worth faking a booklet, as it is usually quickly detected. As a consequence, financial penalties are imposed on such a person, and even imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years.

Sanepidowska book – getting lost

If it happens that we lose the Sanepidowa book, we do not have to worry. In order to recover it, it is enough to report to the occupational medicine physician with the results of the tests we have performed. On this basis, the doctor will issue a new certificate for us.

Remember that carrier testing is performed once in a lifetime. They are especially useful for losing the Sanepid booklet. Therefore, it is worth keeping them somewhere, together with other important documents, because it is on the basis of them that a duplicate of the judgment can be obtained.

Sanitary book – costs

Costs associated with making the Sanepid booklet is covered by the employer if he / she gives the employee a referral for medical examinations. It happens, however, that we have to prepare a booklet at our own expense, which makes us more attractive to the future employer.

Sanepidowska book costs a few zlotys. The cost of tests confirming the carrier of mycobacteria tuberculosis or other microorganisms ranges from 60 to 100 zlotys. The next cost is a medical examination and it costs about PLN 50-100. You should also take into account the cost of additional tests that may be ordered by your doctor during the visit.

Sanepidowska book is no longer valid for about 10 years. Today, instead of a booklet, we receive a sanitary and epidemiological certificate. However, we should remember that the act abolishing books does not specify what the ruling should look like. For this reason, the so-called Sanepidowska book often functions in its current form.

Remember!

The Sanitary Book is not valid abroad, so you do not have to take it with you when you go to another country to work in the gastronomy.
