How to make a salad with walnuts

We are used to the fact that walnuts are used in many cakes and desserts. But walnuts are not only a good addition for sweet dishes, they are also often added to salads, soups and sauces.

 

The walnut added to the salad gives the dish an exquisite taste. In addition, it increases the nutritional value of the light lettuce, keeping the body full for a long time.

Walnuts are very nutritious, but those who are on a diet and watch their figure should not avoid delicious salads with walnuts, since they are used no more than 3-4 kernels, which is completely safe for the figure.

 

On the contrary, if you are on a diet or fasting, then eating several walnuts a day is even beneficial, since walnuts are 30% vegetable protein, which the body needs. And in terms of the amount of vitamins, it can replace most fruits. It contains vitamins of group B, C, A, phosphorus, iodine, potassium, magnesium, selenium, etc.

Nuts go very well with herbs, meat, fish, beans, mushrooms, honey and cheese.

Cherry salad with walnuts and grapes

Ingredients:

  • Arugula – 1 bunch
  • Cherry tomatoes – 6-7 pcs.
  • Red grapes – small branch
  • Capers – 1 tsp.
  • Walnuts – 1 handful
  • Olives – 100 gr.
  • Olives – 100 gr.
  • Pomegranate seeds – 1/2 pc.
  • Olive oil – 50 gr.
  • Balsamic vinegar – 1 tsp
  • Thyme – 1 sprig

Wash the arugula and tear it into large pieces with your hands. Put in a salad bowl. Cut the grapes, cherry tomatoes, olives and olives in half. Add to greens. Chop the cores of the nuts into large pieces with a knife.

 

Divide the pomegranate into grains. Add to the salad bowl. We put the capers there. Mix balsamic and oil, add thyme leaves and season salad.

Warm pumpkin salad with walnuts

Ingredients:

 
  • Pumpkin – 1/4 pcs.
  • Walnuts – 2,5 tbsp l.
  • Short pasta – 200 gr.
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 1,5 l.
  • Basil – 1/2 bunch
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Olive oil – 2 Art. l
  • Red onion – 1/4 pc.
  • Arugula – 1/2 bunch

Cut the pumpkin into small cubes. Put it on a baking sheet, sprinkle with oil and send to bake in an oven preheated to 160 degrees. Bake for about 20 minutes. Cool afterwards.

Boil the pasta in salted water.

In a blender, combine nuts, basil, garlic and olive oil. Add salt to taste.

 

Wash arugula leaves thoroughly and tear by hand. Put in a salad bowl.

Add cooled pumpkin and ready-made pasta there. Stir and season with sauce. Add finely chopped red onion before serving.

Beet and apple salad with walnuts

 

Ingredients:

  • Beets – 1-2 pcs.
  • Apple – 1 pcs.
  • Walnuts – 4 halves
  • Natural yogurt – 1 tbsp l.
  • Salt – to taste

Wash the beets and boil or bake. Baked beets keep the original flavor richer. Cool the finished beets, peel and grate.

Peel the apple and grate it. Chop the nuts into medium pieces. Mix apples, beets and nuts, salt and season with yogurt.

 

Pear and Walnut Salad

This salad will take a few minutes to prepare, after which you can enjoy a delicious combination of pear, cheese and walnuts.

Ingredients:

  • Lettuce leaves – 100 gr.
  • Pear – 2 pcs.
  • Smoked cheese – 70 gr.
  • Walnuts – 1 handful
  • Olive oil – for dressing

Wash lettuce leaves and tear with hands, put in a salad bowl. Cut the pear into thin slices or cubes, as you like. Chop the nuts into large pieces and fry in a dry frying pan. Cut the cheese into cubes.

Mix all ingredients and season with oil.

Warm liver-nut salad

Like any warm salad, this recipe can easily replace the main course.

Ingredients:

  • Lettuce leaves – 100 gr.
  • Chicken liver – 200 gr.
  • Walnuts – 1 handful
  • Pomegranate – 1/2 pc.
  • Cognac – 5 tbsp. l.
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil – for frying

Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan and quickly fry the chopped liver in it. Frying time no more than 4-5 minutes.

Add chopped walnuts to the liver and fry for a couple of minutes, add a little olive oil if necessary.

Pour in brandy and wait for the alcohol to evaporate. Remove from heat.

Rinse lettuce leaves thoroughly, tear with your hands and put in a salad bowl. Disassemble the pomegranate into grains. Add them to greens. Stir in warm liver and nuts.

Serve with the sauce in which the liver was fried and, to taste, add a little olive oil.
