It may seem to many that such a simple dish as a hot bun with sausage sprinkled with ketchup and mustard is nothing complicated. But if you try to make a hot dog from the listed ingredients using regular products that you find in the store, you are unlikely to make a hot dog.

One of its main secrets is a bun baked from dough prepared according to a special recipe. To bake 10 of these buns, you will need:

– 500 g of premium wheat flour; – 4 g of dry yeast; – 1 and ½ cups of warm boiled water; – 40 g of butter; – 20 g of milk powder; – 1 egg; – 1 tsp. sugar; – ½ tsp. salt.

Make a dough – measure out 200 g of flour, mix it with yeast, add water and knead well. Place the dough in a warm place for 20 minutes, then add melted butter to it, mix well again. Put milk powder, salt and sugar in the remaining flour, mix and add to the dough. Knead the dough well until smooth, let stand for 20 minutes, knead again.

Place the dough in a large saucepan, sprinkle the bottom and sides with flour, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1,5 hours. Knead and knead the rising dough a couple of times. Divide the finished dough into 10 equal parts, roll out circles from them, fold the edges to the middle and pinch them. Place the buns on a greased baking sheet, brush with a beaten egg, leave for 1,5 hours to separate, and then bake in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for 20 minutes.

The second main secret of the snack is a sausage, the main ingredient of a hot dog, it must be fried on a grill, and not in an ordinary pan, and even more so not boiled. If you have an airfryer, you can use it to bake hot dog sausages. Another option is a special grill pan with a ribbed bottom. Place sausages on it and fry without oil.
