The easiest way to catch crayfish is hand fishing, which not everyone dares to do, since other representatives of the underwater kingdom, by no means peaceful, may be present in the crayfish burrows. Therefore, you can get injured hands.
To prevent this from happening, you need to use the crayfish as an effective and efficient method of catching crayfish. For this, the simplest design is suitable. You can make it yourself or buy it on the market, where you will need to pay from $ 3 to $ 15 for it, depending on the complexity of the design. How to do it anyway?
How to make your own crayfish
There are several types of crayfish, among which it is worth highlighting 3 main types:
in the form of a cone
For this, two circles of different diameters are taken from the wire, inside which the mesh is stretched. Circles are also fastened together with a grid. A smaller circle has a hole in the center through which the cancer crawls into the cradle.

Of plastic bottles
For this, several 5-liter plastic bottles (from 4 to 10 pieces) are taken, from which the neck is cut off at the point where the bottle narrows. We also cut off the lid itself, making the hole large so that the cancer crawls into it. We turn over the cut off cone-shaped part of the bottle and insert it into the bottle with the narrow part inside.
Then the cone-shaped part is attached to the bottle with a wire, making small holes in both parts of the bottle. The same holes should be made (as large as possible) over the entire surface of the bottle so that it can be immersed in water. This operation is done with all the bottles, and then they are connected using a cord into one. The result is a large shell. It is advisable to attach a weight to the last bottle so that the crayfish can quickly plunge into the water.

Rakolovka in the form of a yater
Yater (it is also called tops) can also be used to catch crayfish. Yater without wings, but with a two-way entrance, is best suited. According to the type of yater, you can make the following design: take a fine-mesh metal mesh and make a cylinder out of it. The ends are closed with the same mesh, but in the center of the circle, holes are made for cancer. Rakolovka, ready to use.
Going on the Internet, you can find a video and see what the above-described crayfish actually looks like.
All three types of crayfish are suitable for catching crayfish in still water. For fishing in the current, a bottle cage is better suited. This is how practice shows, despite the fact that a metal mesh cage creates the least resistance to flow.

crayfish food
In order to catch crayfish, it is not enough to have a crayfish. The fact is that cancer will not climb into an empty shell, because there is nothing to eat. And this means that it must contain some kind of food that cancer loves. They feed not only on carrion, but also on various vegetables and fruits.
Food for cancer:
- Dead fish.
- Rotten meat.
- Fresh fish or chicken offal.
- Not fresh cabbage.
- Balloons.
- Melon.
Balls should be prepared according to this recipe. A bandage is taken and wrapped in it: bran; pepper for carp fishing; flavors: “orange”, “plum”, “strawberry”. Balls are formed from such components, which are then placed in a rake.
To prevent the cancer from dragging the bait, it is attached inside the crawfish with a wire.
When going on crayfish fishing, it should be remembered that crayfish grow quite slowly: to reach a size of 10 cm, it needs to grow 3-4 years. Therefore, do not catch “trifle” and do not take crayfish with caviar.
