How To Make A Cleaner From What You Have On Hand

Life hacks for those who are tired of spending money on the endless purchase of shop powders and sprays.

Now cleaning is a business that can, without exaggeration, save lives. After all, you can bring home an infection not only on your hands, but also on things: scientists say that the coronavirus can live on paper for a day, on plastic for four days, and on metal surfaces it can last for about a week. But you can go broke on a daily thorough cleaning! Bottles and jars of cleaning products empty before our eyes. But there are life hacks that will help you keep your house clean and without wasting money. You already have everything you need at home.

Handmade disinfector

The most effective is the usual “Whiteness” or another chlorine-containing product, up to bleach diluted in water. But you can make a disinfectant just as well by adding a little vinegar to the water. Such a tool will perfectly disinfect any surface. And if you drop a little more dishwashing liquid into the mixture, the disinfector will cope even with serious dirt.

Rescue for painted surfaces

Doors, jambs, even walls – they get dirty very easily and quickly, especially near switches and door handles. On the one hand, they can be easily wiped off with any powder. On the other hand, this powder will then have to be washed off for a long time and tediously. But you can simply dilute a little fabric softener in water – it turns out that such a solution very easily cleans even the dirtiest doors.

And if – attention! – children painted the painted walls with a felt-tip pen or marker, then a cucumber peel will help you – just cut it off and rub the marks on the wall. It will be much more effective than scrubbing the drawings with powder.

Rust remover

Lemon peel. If you don’t mind – a lemon wedge. It is enough to wipe the faucet with them, knives touched by rust or other metal objects – everything will shine like new. Alternatively, you can dilute citric acid in water, moisten a cloth in it and walk over all surfaces that have lost their shine. The shine will return instantly.

Germ killer

This is a microwave oven. You can steam a kitchen sponge in it every day – this is the dirtiest object in the house, in which bacteria multiply at an insane rate. Microorganisms die in two minutes in the microwave. But this does not mean that the sponge can be used longer than usual. It will still have to be changed once a week.

By the way, a lot of microbes accumulate on the toothbrush – nothing prevents them from multiplying between brushings. Therefore, it is advised to hold the brush in a mouthwash for a minute before brushing your teeth.

Keyboard cleaner

The stores sell special slimes for keyboards – sticky balls pull out all the excess that is clogged between the keys. You can make such a slime yourself from starch, glue and baking soda. Dilute starch in water in a ratio of one to four, mix 50 ml of glue and two tablespoons of liquid starch and soda. Knead into a homogeneous “dough” – the slime is ready.

Frosted glass

A TV screen, a mirror surface of a microwave oven or refrigerator is beautiful, but terribly inconvenient to clean. There are many products available for cleaning these surfaces, but many of them leave streaks. It turns out that an ordinary coffee filter can effectively remove both stains and dust from screens. And it is ideal to wipe off the mirror surfaces – a tea bag, moreover, a used one.

Burnt dishes

Working and cooking lunch at the same time is not a big deal. Often everything ends with a burnt saucepan or frying pan and a dirty stove. Regular soda will help to revive the damaged dishes. Pour a can of any soda into a saucepan or skillet and boil it. After that, it remains just to wipe the saucepan with a sponge.

And if you pour soda into a spray bottle, you get a product that returns shine to metal surfaces. True, then you will have to wipe them with a damp cloth as well – because of the sugar in the soda, they will be sticky.

Get rid of bad smell

We’re talking about the smell in the toilet. It turns out that regular shaving foam helps to cope with it quickly and easily. The simplest and cheapest will do, the presence of supermegos for skin care in the composition in this case does not matter. The foam is applied to all surfaces: tiles, toilet, sink and left for a couple of hours or even overnight. Then the rest of the foam needs to be wiped off with a regular rag – and the smell is gone.

Against dust

Take a regular sock – for sure, after the next wash, you have an unpaired one. Spray it with antistatic agent and walk over all surfaces: it is very convenient to wipe dust even in corners, hard-to-reach places and on blinds. And thanks to the antistatic agent, the dust will not settle for a long time.

Disinfecting Wipes

Take a metal can with a lid – like a coffee can. Make a hole in the lid. Pour a mixture of vinegar, water and alcohol into a jar: ½ cup of water and ¼ cup each of vinegar and alcohol. Add a teaspoon of liquid soap, a drop of any essential oil. Dip a roll of disposable towels into the mixture, thread the corner of the last towel through the hole in the lid.
